Put yourselves in Adam Silver's shoes

The ASG is a garanteed top audience with or without Vic

If I'm negociating the next TV deal I want the rookie game to have the best possible audience WITH Victor
I think just the opposite. The last 4-5 years, AS Saturday night ruled, and the game itself was an afterthought. I mean, they restructured it this year because it was so bad, going away from that stupid player picking.

Don't know exactly when it crossed over to being Pro Bowl levels of unwatchable, but '03 in Atlanta is the last ASG I remember fondly from when it still looked like an actual NBA game.

Tell me who can draw enough attention aside of Wemby for the rookie/soph game?

No TV deal announced yet means present tv audiences are still used as leverage in negociations

the ASG itself can draw a big enough audience as long as Lebron and Steph are here

Jordan's last All-Star game was legendary. Has to be expected to be compe ive with MJ and Kobe in it. Now that is unwatchable. These players are a bunch of softies.

I hated Kobe so much live for the game tying 3 that took away MJ's ASG MVP

    What a game

I was Googling your comment about Lebron's rookie season and this was at the top:

Even LeBron James' meteoric rookie season in 2003 (20.9 PPG, 5.5 RPG, 5.9 APG) didn't earn him a ticket to the biggest weekend of the season. But the 2021 NBA Draft class could signal the turning of the tide with names like Cade Cunningham, Jalen Green and Evan Mobley.

Do we always overrate draft classes?

I get the reminiscing but watching it unfold, I just wanted it over. There were plenty other players out there, the worship service was a bit too much (but expected given the revenue he generated for the league).

The moment someone gets hurt in an ASG it will either cease to exist or become an even more unwatchable version of what we have now. The NBA ASG is much more like the NFL Pro Bowl than the MLB ASG.

The only way I can see to get the players to really compete is pay every player on the winning team an amount of money that they would find significant, probably at least $5M. Even then injuries are a risk. Another possibility is to move the ASG to just before the draft, so that if a player picks up a mild to moderate injury they wouldn't miss any of the regular season.

These Kids Must Be Thinking He Is A Superhero

I Hope There Is Nothing That Will Happen In Wemby’s Career That Will Tarnish His So-Far Clean Image. A Lot Of Kids Will Be Looking Up To Him

Hopefully the line about this probably being the best month for a rookie in 25 years spreads like wildfire and the Spurs hating, hipster nerd stat geek faction of the media catches wind of it.

Speaking of which, in what's regarded as one of if not the best publicly available metrics by that community and their counterparts within' the league, Wembanyama, who was significantly behind Holmgren early while being handicapped with no PG and a second C, has come all the way back and passed him already.

This is is where the Chet ROY narrative will go to die. He's had a fairly big fall off for Jan. Wemby should be the front runner from here on out. IDGAF how good the Thunder are.

Also you can forget about Wemby for the ASG. The west has far too many good players in it and its just not going to happen this year.

Apparently it is +/- but taking into account the level of your teammates and the oposition you face. How the F they meassure that? I don't know.

Wow this dunksandthrees site is awesome.

Wemby 5th in Est Def +/- in the entire league and definitely the top "star"

    Also 10th in DR% and #3 in BL%.

Noteworthy: Charles Bassey is #5 in the league in DR% and also #5 at BL%. Even though Chinook hates him, I still think Bassey is the ideal backup C if he could stay healthy and develop his offense game

It's always been such a re ed narrative. Imagine if Wemby had someone as good as SGA playing next to him. That alone should cancel Chet's chances.

The crazy part is that there are 6 players in the NBA that are averaging at least 20 points and 10 rebounds this season, and 5 of them made the All-Star team. Wemby is the 6th one.
