Yeah, my bad, apart for that![]()
Contested Shots (CS) vs. Blocks (BLK):
CS BLK % Brook Lopez 900 141 15.7% Chet Holmgren 697 143 20.5% Anthony Davis 615 128 20.8% Rudy Gobert 597 109 18.3% Walker Kessler 542 131 24.2% Victor Wembanyama 418 156 37.3%
His contests should be a lot higher but our team is incapable of defending the 3 point line
The overhelp on drives to the basket and leave guys wide open for 3 every game is maddening. If they would allow the driver to attack the basket that would give Wemby more contests and more blocks.
Yeah get a couple more perimeter guys who can defend like Sochan(preferably with good/extra length) then keep Bassey or get another solid defensive backup C and SA can easily be the top defense in the league. Force teams into either taking tough midrange shots or challenging Wemby.
To me that stat shows that rim deterrence that we see during games: players just don't even try to attack him, they'd rather pass the ball out when they see him. We see that every game.
And since they're not shooting, he can't have as many contested shots.
His minutes are also still fairly low. That would also affect the number of contests.
ST clamoring for the FO to shore up the defense but also want the spurs to go after the likes of a trae young.
"Gobert's report was succinct -- and tantalizing: The young star, he said, would be a "real problem really soon" for everyone across the league.
It took less than four months."

Proud of this thread for finally passing the Primo thread in length
And if there is one thing both wemby and primo are known for it’s length
Two things are true
Our Defense sucks ass
Our Shooting sucks ass
people thinking he's gonna be content with losing and building through the draft for the next 5 years
Now I'm imagining Wembys long ass legs going up 4 steps at a time
