I think it’s more that a trash supporting cast and a brutal minutes restriction cost him the greatest rookie season ever. Despite everything around him crashing and burning throughout the year he still put up an all time rookie performance.

i agree....Wemby could of averaged 25 and 14 and 4 or 5 blocks.But we treated him like a role player most the season and were way to caustious
with the min restrictions with him.We costed him a allstar and dpoy.Shamefull from our org....There is no way we repeat that mistake
and up with his dpoy and mvp awards potential this season and in the future.

Even while it is obly one game, the Wolves holding the Champs at 80 Points WITHOUT Gobert, shows that it is not just him.

later in the season pop finally -half-way woke up and began to re-insert wemby before the qtrs were over after about 3-4 timeouts and wemby sitting for 15-20 minutes real-time on the bench

did you ever also notice how often Wemby looked out of breath and gassed out there? By the end of the season, he seemed to hold up better and seemed to handle the extended minutes much better.
