As others alluded to, I like that he stuck up for fellow big men but he also wasn’t afraid to call it like it is. In the Shaq-Kobe days he was ruthless on Shaq for his laziness before Phil arrived, and started ripping into his poor work ethic in 2002 again.

Shaq was so dominant and the team was nails, so they still won in 2002…but man, if he had a decent work ethic Lakers would’ve won 5 in a row and the Heat would’ve won 2 in a row.

The best thing about Bill Walton is he would completely agree with everything you said, been self deprecating, give all the credit for his accomplishment to someone else, then go back to living his Bill Walton life and not given you a second thought.
