I support gun rights and I believe in the good guy with a gun hypothetical. That said, there's too many stupid people out there to believe most wouldn't harm rather than help such situations (or instigate them).
At the very minimum, there should be an age limit and a national registry. What the do you have to hide registering yourself as a gun owner? It would actually help if this nation was ever actually invaded, as many conservatives gameplan for (or at least, used to. Now it's a civil war like that's more heroic)
Punish law abiders w/ registry so no.

Describe how you're being punished. Why is the selective service okay and necessary for a modern nation's defense, but not a registry of gun owners? 2nd amendment, well-regulated militia phrasing. Would register not be conducive to a well-regulated militia for the national defense in the case of an invasion?

Law scofflaws would not register thereby punish law abiders. Also do not trust government and you and yours. Show me where it says a registry. Change the amendment. We can change them all if that is what you want
