Good times.
Peak basketball feeling, tbh.
10 years, holy ! The most anxious I was for a Spurs le. They really redeemed themselves from 2013.
That team still is considered one of the greatest playoff teams of all time.
Was there with my wife behind our basket. When Manu went in for that dunk the roof blew off the place....and stayed off until buzzer. I remember not celebrating too much until it was @#$ing over!
I orgasm'd
Sidepoint Splitter haters can f off.
Anymore zero IQ posters comparing the Warriors or 2024 Celtics should be immediately temp pinked.
It’s an avalanche by the Spurs! Finally the good guys win! And how!
Coincidentally I you tubed this last night.
Those Mike Breen "bang" remarks after the triples are etched into my memory
Happy 10 year anniversary for the Beautiful Game, guys.![]()
"Ginobili on the finish!!!"
"What an avalanche from San Antonio!"
I was in attendance at Game 5, but I came home and watched the recording just so I could hear the TV commentary.
Also had a lot of good times on this forum celebrating with you all and ting on the trolls we had at the time
We still hold the record for largest total point differential in an NBA Finals.

Man how time flies. I remember running down culebra high giving strangers in their cars like it was yesterdaygood times
This was so cathartic after 2013, definitely my favorite Spurs team and championship. The beautiful game Spurs are the pinnacle of what basketball should be for my tastes.
Mike Breen is awesome. Remember this interview talking about the 2014 run as his favorite team.

that was such a glorious le Run! Every few weeks I watch highlights from random games from that year.
For me personally that entire year was just blessing after blessing.
Got married, got a new job, find out i'm having my first child and the spurs winning was just the cherry on top. So exhilarating.
10 years, wow. Hopefully with Wemby we can have another le run (or more!)
I’ll never forget the fog I was in the following day after Ray Allen hit the shot. I was so dejected I didn’t allow myself any optimism for Game 7 until late in the fourth quarter, but LeBron hit some jumpers that I’m confident he wouldn’t make if given the opportunity again.
Like most of us, those losses hunger over me until Duncan’s baseline jumper closed out the Thunder and he said, “we’ll do it this time.” Something about that swagger in the moment felt like a win was inevitable. To follow up such a soul-crushing loss with a complete dismantling of the Heat will never be topped in my basketball fandom.
It was a redemption year for everyone.
Duncan putting the team on his back in OT against OKC and guaranteeing a finals win like a boss "We got four more to win. We'll do it this time."
Danny becoming the best 3 & D player
Parker putting the team on his back in Game 7 vs Dallas
Kawhi emerging into a star and becoming the Finals MVP
Splitter getting a key block on Wade after he was humiliated by LeBron the year before
Manu dunking over Bosh and shooting the 3 that put the Spurs up 21 in Game 5 "What an avalanche for San Antonio!"
Boris being a nightmare matchup for OKC and Miami and completely dismantling Miami
Patty losing weight and becoming a rotation player and went off against Miami
Belinelli hitting the momentum killing 3 when Miami was making their comeback and winning his 1st le
CoJo dunking on Abaka which gave the Spurs momentum back for the series
Bonner not being a disaster when he started against OKC
Even Baynes was huge in Game 1 against Portland
Manu dunked so hard on Bosh that he caused the blood coagulation issues that showed up later.
That was a glorious day. I was in the house. I sat between Kawhi's agent and the director of Semi-Pro and had some good chats with each of them.
That team was so special, we are all lucky to have witnessed that team play. How many years until Wemby takes us back? God willin' and the creek don't rise....I'll be there when that happens.
It was enjoyable and a lot of euphoria winning that le since I never thought Spurs would win another le after '07. I also felt at the time it solidified Duncan as the best player of his generation over Kobe, Shaq and it did until Kobe passed away and the media had revisionist history.
What's happened the last 10 years lives up to the old saying that sometimes life is stranger than fiction. I don't think anybody would have believed 10 years ago if you told them Kawhi was this tool controlled by his uncle and would try to force a trade to the Lakers despite the Spurs being a 60-win team with him but would eventually get traded to the Raptors and lead them to their first le only to leave them to go to the Clippers. Then the Spurs would wallow in mediocrity for a long time with second tier stars in Lamarcus, Derozan, Dejounte, and then luck out with a unicorn generational talent in Victor that has GOAT potential.
Special team tbh. Prob my favorite Spurs team ever. The feeling after winning that one will likely never be topped simply because of the redemption arc from the heartbreak of the year prior. The relief and euphoria I experienced after that series will likely never be duplicated. Great memories tbh.
