With Red only getting $8M per year, with who knows how much guaranteed, he is just a cheap placeholder.
They'll eat him alive.
Should have stuck with his podcast, he'd have gotten bigger than Bill Simmons. Now has to give that up for a year before LeBron blames him instead of himself for trading all their talent to get Westbrook and gets him fired.
I think it's a win-win for both. Lakers get a face and a name friendly to LeBron. JJ gets a big time coaching job he wouldn't have sniffed at elsewise. Who knows he may be great. But I'm praying for gasoline on the dump fire personally
What will be interesting are the assistant coaches JJ will select.
