It would be pretty astonishing if they didn't come away with 1 of them
Ready for a chaotic night, boys?
Your top five favorites:
1) Risacher
2) Castle
3) Sheppard
4) Sarr
5) Buzelis
Let’s see if the Spurs come away with any one of them tonight.
It would be pretty astonishing if they didn't come away with 1 of them
Salaun and Topic is happening and I’m here for it, tbh
Looks like the spurs have done their due diligence on all the top prospects so I’m just going to trust whatever decision they make. I’m usually a fan of just watching the draft and staying away from spoilers, but I think I might do the opposite tonight. A lot of players might be getting drafted for a different team than the hat they put on. Will definitely be refreshing WoJ and Shams on twitter haha
Ugh. That literally might be the worst nightmare combo. An injured point guard who won't play most of the season, and a 18-yr old extremely raw Frenchman who might turn out to be great and can just easily be a flop.
Getting strong Primo vibes.
Unfortunately I won’t be able to watch the draft live this year.
I look forward to reading all your thoughts post-draft though. Hope everyone has a good one.![]()
1.Sarr - very boom or bust, I squint and I want to see JJJ
2.Risacher - tall and can shoot
3.Sheppard - knows how to play
4.Clingan - the one prospect, who doesn’t need to shoot to be able to play
5.Holland/Matas/Castle, whatever - can’t shoot, but one of these might overachieve I suppose

My final board with some terrible comparisons. I’m down for whatever though as long as it’s not Holland. I think the top 9 are splitting hairs I just ranked them based on potential for the most part. I’m all for a trade back at 4 or 8 if you acquire future assets and still get multiple players in this draft.
NBA Draft Board 2024
- Matas Buzelis-Jayson Tatum
- Alex Sarr-wannabe wemby off brand discount version
- Cody Williams - Tracy McGrady
- Zaccharie Risacher- less athletic Klay Thompson
- Rob Dillingham- modern Allen Iverson
- Stephon Castle-Chauncey Billups
- Reed Sheppard-smaller Devin Booker
- Tidjane Salaun - less athletic better shooting Giannas Antetokounmpo
- Devin Carter- less athletic Russell Westbrook if he could shoot better
- Tristan Da Silva- Kyle Kuzma
- Nikola Topic-Josh Giddey
- Dalton Knecht-athletic Kevin Huerter
- Isaiah Collier-Baron Davis
- Donovan Clingan-Ivica Zubac meets steroids and Skill
I just can't, I keep changing my mind every hour.
No particular order:
Risacher - If he can become the next elite 3-D guy, I'd take him even without the superstar upside. We just saw Mikal Bridges go for 5 FRPs, ffs.
Sarr - Worst case scenario we get another elite rim protector and Wemby's backup. I don't really think he'll put it together on offense and I don't think he'll be available at #4.
Castle - If he can develop his shot, easily the best option. But that's a big if. Without a servicable jumpshot, he won't be able to close out games.
Sheppard - Undersized shooting guard. Don't want.
Dillingham - Would rather have him than Sheppard because his playstyle is something we actually need.
Willaims - If we were just starting the tank, I'd probably take him. Looks really smooth, but needs to put everything together. Don't want to waste a lottery pick on a long-term project when we have Wemby.
Carter - High floor elite role player. I'd rather gamble on Dillingham, but if we take a wing with #4, then Carter seems like an obvious choice at #8.
Salaun - An even less ready project than Willaims.
Don't want Ignite guys, don't want Clingan, don't want Knecht and especially don't want Topic.
If I had to choose, I'd say:
#4 pick:
1) Sarr
2) Risacher
3) Castle
4) Williams
#8 pick:
1) Williams
2) Dillingham
3) Carter
4) Salaun
All I'm asking is no Buzelis.
Anybody else I can deal with
The Spurs are telling rival teams they will be taking a best-player-available approach at both picks No. 4 and No. 8, despite having backcourt needs and a lack of shooting and playmaking -- areas they'll need to address in due time. Taking a patient approach seems to be San Antonio's strategy for now, as there are plenty of scenarios in which more attractive options become available in the near future.

2 of 3 between Zacch , Knecht and Williams is my perfect draft.
Won't bet against them: Carter and Salaun.
Darkhorse: Bub and Walter.
Do not draft: Centers, Ignite and Castle.

#4
1)Risacher
2)Sarr
3)Sheppard
4)Clingan
5)Castle
#8
1) One of the Above or
2)Knecht
3)Carter
4)Holland
5)Dillingham
Do not want: Buzelis or Williams
Castle and Salaun. You heard it here first.
Team Sheppard checking in tbh
I think that's as best of an educated guess as there is.
Any two between - Buzelis, Sheppard, Dillingham -
would be awesome...
Topic all the way.
Also, Castle or Dilly.
ATL picks Risacher.
SA picks Clingan at 4 and trades him to ATL + whatever both are OK with for Zach.
Other SA moves for a vet PG with ATL or whoever not excluded.
4th: Sheppard, Castle
8th: Carter, Knect
Mostly out on Risacher, Topic, and Sarr. Zero good vibes detected. Clingan is a misfit.
Would not be upset to see Cody Williams, Buzelis, Holland, Dillingham, or Salaun picked. Jared McCain's 41% from 3 is looking kind of sexy too.
