In one of the weakest drafts in a long time, the Spurs turned their pick into two picks in the future. Two tradeable 1st round picks, both basically being unprotected.

People have whined all year about having two picks in such a weak draft and the spurs did as good as you could with the pick, and turned it into two which will without a doubt be better than this draft.

Don't forget, the Spurs are already short on roster spots. They still have young 1st round picks developing that have just as much a chance of turning the corner as anyone in this draft very weak draft.

I personally was pretty excited about Dilli tbh, just from a fan of exciting players but the spurs getting two 1st for a weak draft pick is a positive.

Spurs are likely going into the off season with a plan tbh. Those two first round picks give the team way more leverage for Wemby winning than anyone they picked at 8

I don't know if there's a rookie I'm rooting more for next year than Dillingham tbh

Trying to be patient since this moves should signal something big with the extra cap space, but it’s gonna be tough. What a disappointing draft at face value.

I don’t have a problem with trading the pick, but 2030 is a long time from now. The team realistically has just one more year to build a core around Wemby.

ROFL all us spending all season following the Raptors hoping to get this pick and instead it's pushed to 2030 and 2031

Makes no sense unless they're close to a trade for Garland or maybe a forward. Though I'm just going to bet on the makes no sense part.

Because I’d rather have Dilly than Blake of Branham.

Finally a Spurs trade where I wonder if I'll live to see the pick.

trading #8 for more assets only makes sense if we got a trade on the table. Not sure if that's the case though, our FO is re ed

when people were melting down that they weren't gonna get the 8th pick they wanted only for them to pick a decent one and trade him to a contender

We gotta save those precious roster spots on idiots like Zollins

    I'll bet on the latter

WTF did Buzelis do in his workout? Pull his out and rub one out onto the logo at the practice facility?

Lol Did someone just say the 2031 draft is guaranteed to be better than this one? Is there a player in middle school right now that's a consensus 2031 pick? Stupid take. There's no way to know that right now.

Anyway...Yeah this draft wasn't great, but mother consensus seems to be that it's full of potential role players. It would have been nice to have 2 more prospects on cheap deals to compete with the other young guys. It's not like anyone on this team is untouchable anyway.

Even if you trade the pick, at least get something back on Wemby's timeline instead of gifting a strong team in your conference a player that could help you.

Hopefully this ends up a net positive down the road, but it's hard to see it right now.

I hate Buzelis he's Samanic 2.0. I don't like the forwards, but had Dillingham in my top 5 the whole time. The defense is an issue, but if you move him then you better bring in somebody better cause that kid got star potential. I'd also like if we trade some of our 2nds to Phoenix to get another first here.

Everyone heaping praise on PATFO throughout the draft process for ensuring nobody knew who they were ultimately gonna take at #8 when in reality it was because they had no ing idea themselves

I'm not a Dilly Fan (especially with Castle as PG and Tre/Wesley still on the roster) but when you go into the draft expecting two toys but only getting one (with it not even beeing the exciting Sheppard experience), it always will feel like a bummer. I had loved to take Buzz or Knecht but come 2030s we will be happy and it may even prevent Wemby from leaving, knowing we are never totally stuck in the mud, with more assets coming up.

Would just liked to have the swap in '30 and the pick in '31 as the curent setup may render the Dallas swap worthless.
