Buzelis dropped to them somehow, maybe there’s still hope they can stay mid another year

They're trying to rebuild on the fly. The Giddey trade and getting Buzelis aren't bad efforts. Good for us, it should keep them treading water. If they lose DDR, they probably drop, though.

I’m looking forward to this pick conveying so we can trade it to OKC for a FRP in 2032.

I'd totally take on Vuc or LaVine if they unprotected the pick, with an option to defer to '26.

Vuc average 18/10 last season while making a reasonable 20M. He has positive value or neutral value worst case. LaVine has roughly 135M left on his deal. Bulls will have to eat that like the Nets with Ben Simmons. We could absorb the last season of Lonzo Ball and make it the pick unprotected but Chicago says no.

Both Vuc and DeRozan seem unlikely to stay on the team. Not looking likely this pick conveys in 2025.

Can't wait for this pick to convey at #12 so the Spurs can trade it to the Knicks for their 2032 first and a 2031 swap.

Are 2040 picks allowed to be traded under the current CBA? Hopefully so, that way we can get great value.

Teams that will likely be worse than Chicago next year.

    Detroit
    Washington
    Brooklyn
    Utah

That puts the Bulls pick at 5.

Teams that MAY be worse than Bulls or there abouts.

    Charlotte
    Toronto
    Atlanta
    Spurs

That puts the Bulls pick at 10 as best case.

I think the odds are 70/30 the pick doesn’t convey in 2025 but those odds get better for the Spurs the next two years when it drops to top 8 protected.

Interesting to see what the Bulls do with Derozan, Vucevic, Lavine.

We just need to do the same this year to Chicago as we did to Toronto last year. If we (and Atlanta) can stay just worse than Chicago, it would go a long way to helping it convey. Picks 9, 10 & 11 wouldn't be bad (pre-lottery)

if the pick conveys, maybe we can flip it for some nice future picks

Yeah, at this point it's just what year CHI conveys so we can trade it off.

or just let it convey it in 2025 and then trade it for a 2026 pick. why risk it not conveying

yeah, let's be terrible forever so we can ensure that these pick convey. Then we can trade them for even more future picks and we can suck then too to ensure those don't convey. We'll be NBA champs in no time.

The protections lower to 1-8 the 2nd and 3rd years, so it’s more likely to convey then.

This is so encouraging. If it conveys next year or the year after, we might be able to get a 2050 SRP by BlackWrong

It would have to be 2032 for next year, or 2033 for 2026.

The Spurs will end up with this pick and then piss it away just to spite the Bulls.
