Glad they didn't trade for more cash considerations at least tbh.

We've been saying the same thing for years and their biggest moves in FA was McNuggets and Collins.

This FO is doing absolutely jack when Free Agency opens up tbh
True and that’s fair. But Spurs have Wemby now and a true hub to build around so that’s very different. Im team “be patient” on this build and do it the right way, but there will be a time next 2 years where SA has to really go and go hard for it.

And even though Im team patient, I do think SA needs to move the team forward some this year. It cannot just be Castle and run it back that would horrific.

They will trade him if he doesn’t agree to a two-way.

I don't hate adding a combo forward that can shoot on a 2-Way deal. He'll get plenty of time in Austin to see if he has anything worth investing in long-term.

Cidy is gonna have to ball-out in the Summer League to have a chance to remain in San Antonio. Compe ion is good and the team needed this type of player (like Cidy, Julian and Ingram) for what seems like forever.

Harrison Ingram's family said to be pacing frantically, wondering where they will actually wind up.
Austin. Book it. If they wanted 35 to take a 2 way, there’s no way this kid is getting anything else.

They usually get the agreement before they pick the second rounder. Had a hiccup at 35, so they punted.

Harrison Ingram is such a nothing nobody going on a two-way that I'm not going to bother even watching any YouTube clips of him

Spurs just took the first person to say yes to the 2way, they're not serious about him being a player so no reason to be serious about him. 2-way summer league body, awesome

He's a real hustle player. Rebounds like crazy and boxes out hard. Gets a lot of putbacks and has a legit 3-point shot. Looks like one of those Popovich G-League projects that turn into legit NBA players 2-3 years later.

So I think I like the draft being two days. I don't ever like Stephen A being part of the coverage, but besides that, the presentation seems good. It's less flashy and more intimate. It's nice to listen to while I wrap up work.

With the 48th Pick in the 2024 NBA Draft the San Antonio Spurs select Two-Way Player, It Doesn't Matter Which One

Which is fine that he'll be mostly in Austin unless he shoots lights out in Summer League (doubtful). They have Castle, Julian, and Cidy all capable of eating up minutes at the wing spots. I still think adding a veteran role-player to the mix would be huge, especially if he's of the 3-and-D variety.

Might as well cut Cidy now, he's not going to last in the NBA.

Probably a good idea. They drafted that Senior PG from Alabama for a 2 way spot last year, and he was gone by like January. I think they cycled like 5 guys through the 3 spots during the season.

They're about to waste 2 years of Wemby's rookie contract doing absolutely nothing.

There's a middle ground between what they're doing and pushing all your chips into the middle and they haven't even sniffed that.

They are absolutely about to run it back again + Castle. Wemby and the young guys badly need shooting around them to unlock their games and they've done nothing to address that. I promise you they won't do in Free Agency.

Frankly, it's terrifying and my confidence in them being able to build a competent team around Vic is at an all time low. What they've done since drafting him reeks of arrogance. It's either that or just blatant incompetence and I'm not really sure which is worse.

I think the Castle pick made that inevitable. They’re the same physical toolsy big creator /defender, and the unguaranteed second rounder loses that contest every time.

Summer’s barely begun, and there was a reason they cleared extra cap room by kicking #8 down the road 7 years. I can see some moves like Houston made last summer, only less assholey. My pet cat is Cam Johnson.

True, but the Spurs have 2 open roster spots (after signing Castle to his rookie deal) and can try to offload worse deals first (Collins or Johnson). I think we need as many defensive minded players as possible on this team, but waiving him could easily happen if they need his spot.

We'll see, but I hope he remains on the team if only for his playmaking, size and defensive potential.

Fair enough and I think some fear is warranted but I am confident they will not just sit on their hands tbh…
