Honestly, if they brought him over after all this bull with trading away better and needed players, it would be ing preposterous.

Someone on Spurs Reddit is claiming a connection to a Spanish journo who swears the Spurs will be bring him this year. That the reports of signing with Barcelona are premature (Vecenie in his Livestream said he had been signed there, Fischer called him a draft and stash candidate)

There is nothing I would love more to be wrong about and take the Loss on after such an anger inducing first round. I loved Nunez as a prospect despite his flaws and think he would be very entertaining to watch, and if he can be convinced to shoot righty could be a legit player.

But I'll have to see it to believe it. Feeling like Hawkeye right now ... "Don't give me hope."
I really doubt he comes right away. He’s headed to Barcelona as his girlfriend’s dad is… Juan Carlos Navarro, current Barça GM (and Spanish NT legend).

Fun fact is that Navarro’s 2 daughters are dating Juan Nuñez and Hugo Gonzalez, which were supposed to be the top two prospects of Real Madrid, which is Barça’s nemesis…And both appear to be headed to Barcelona sooner rather than later.

Really excited for Nunez! Too bad we didn't get his teammate Pacome Dadiet

Nunez is a pick n roll master with some Manu esqe spin passes. He can't shoot anywhere just layups.

That's the kind of GM ingenuity and hustle we don't see here in America

I'd actually prefer to stash him. Barcelona is a top club in Europe and he can develop over there. Why bring him over to play in Austin and warm the Spurs bench?

    1. Because he'd be the best passer on the team
    2. Even if he spent time developing in Europe, he would still warm the bench as a rookie anyway, just like Splitter and everyone else. Even being the freaking mvp of the Spanish league wasn't enough for Pop, he still had to waste a year to get over himself. Might as well get that over with now during their non-contention period of Wemby's career. If he really stands out he might be given the chance to start like Parker after a few games, but mostly the stashes get to ride the bench regardless of talent or skill
    3. If his shot is ever going to be reworked, it needs to happen while he's young so it takes. And even though Sochan can't really be pointed to as a success story, he did take some drastic steps to change. And I doubt he'll find the same push to change in Spain

he can't answer this without tipping his hand. first, saying "yes" would mean someone is getting released or traded in order to make room on the roster and second, they have to see whether or not they would make a buyout offer that RM would consider matching or not.
This. This kid was not surprised because he knows he will be the pick. And I’m sure also was coached how to answer reporters until all are ironed out with RM. He’s a great passer, who sees the court very well, big and strong to handle himself. Somebody mentioned Manu/Luka similarities. Just watch the composure of this kid and at 20. ing insane how he seems to be in control of the entire moment. And who wouldn’t want the job to pass to the biggest target in basketball. Every ing PG in the NBA would covet passing to Wemby. His country would not allow him to miss the opportunity to be great. Stop this of the boy not coming here.

You couldn’t go 20 seconds without making yet another Manu comparison to a young player.

I wasn’t the one making the comparison. Just reading reactions all-over. My take is his composure, like he owns the court, like Luka pacing the game and at 20. Nah, this kid is not staying long in Austin in case. This kid belongs in the court with the biggest target for his passes. I understand now trading Dilly, while it’s a big gamble waiting till 36 to draft this kid. How this kid fell all the way to 36!

    Juanobili. I was impressed.

    Start him tomorrow.

Seriously. No better learning ground than on a ty pro team. Harder to get good playing time and minutes on a good team. What you got to lose? Nothing. Start him.

I realize you're new here. 2018 join date.

I assure you, the archives are littered with lengthy threads on such stalwarts as James Gist, James White!, Jack McClinton, Adam Hanga, Ryan Richards, Deshaun Thomas and Marcus Denmon (among many others).

    This is incredibly typical.

Information that comes to me directly from the Draft ceremony itself.

The San Antonio Spurs intend to immediately sign Juan Núñez and have him play in the NBA next season.

    Google translate lol

Has terrific PG passing skills. Makes smart heady plays. Looks like he tries to be too fancy instead of making the simple play.
Needs to be put on a strength conditioning NBA program
    Work on his shooting
Defensively he is scrappy but I find him to be slow and will struggle on the side of the court. His active hands and scrappiness will help but that is a big negative for him.

For a 2nd round pick he is a nice pick up. If he stays with the European club he can work on these aspects or if we sign him he can spend a season in the gleague with lesser compe ion but have the time to focus to work on class in his game.

Yeah, what seems the most likely is, as you said, Nunez signing with Barcelona.

I hope it's true Spurs want to being him this summer. He is really a talented player and it's time to give up on Blake Wesley for Spurs.

In ideal scenario, he'd be a bigger Tre, long-term replacement.

I'd rather have an actual basketball player on the roster like Nunez than Wesley.
He'd surely get some minutes this season.
Then if he's good enough right away, I'd try to trade Tre before the deadline, I'm not a fan of him and he's entering his final year.
