And again, Vassell signed for just over 3/5 of that amount and people still act like it's some huge contract.
"Does Nazr Mohammed still have it in him?"

Everything you say is stupid, got
Not that I thought we’d ever actually trade for Cade… but I enjoyed the banter fantasizing about it. Now we’ve been robbed of even that. Damn the basketball gods.
“why the does Mr. Body have his head so far up his ass that he thinks he’s smart and everyone else isn’t? ing narcissist.”
TBF I don't think many people think he's wildly overpaid. Most thing its fair to borderline fair. By the end it'll look like a bargain, IMO.
Somebody get the man a booster seat.
Fantasies are all we have![]()
I knew it was gonna happen. The Pistons were never going to trade their franchise player. I was just confused by the guys here thinking the guy sucked or that he could be had for little. It's like they didn't even care to check how well the kid was doing, tbh.![]()

Lavine in a year or two could be matching salary in a Cunningham trade ... Right?
Vassell’s deal will look like a bargain if he takes the next step that he looks poised to. If he doesn’t, it’s probably a slight overpay but not the end of the world.
SpursTalk steady-state is despising their own players and overrating any expensive non-winning player they can possibly find.
The latest was Cade Cunningham, who a cadre here convinced themselves the Pistons were about to trade. Like, the hit rate on these marginal, very expensive players is almost inerrant. John Collins, Tobias Harris, Ben Simmons, Deandre Ayton, Cade Cunningham, now it's Zach Lavine, a wildly expensive player who has been in the league 10 years, been to the playoffs once, and won a single game. I don't know why people do this to themselves.
Larry Brown actually won
Vassell is about 3/5 the player Cade is, so I guess it's fair, tbh.
I think Vassell’s contract is fine and will look better in a few years. I remember Bill Simmons on one of his podcasts saying Derrick White contract was one of the worst, now he’s French kissing his feet and calling the trade genius.
Ok ok you got a laugh out of me. He’s definitely not worth it but as a two year placeholder it’s not as bad as it sounds if you lift protection and gain another 1st.
The idea is that you land at least two big selections next year if not 3 and buy two years of development while giving up further draft assets down the road and path off of 50plus million on an expiring.
Having a handful of good rookies and the ability to wipe 50 million off your cap 2-3 years from now might not be a horrible move compared to throwing money at other less expensive players that don’t move the needle and come with no draft compensation.
You sure about that, Chief? Cade the idea and Cade the product on the floor are very different.
I honestly feel bad for Westbrook.
Don't get me wrong...I hate the way he plays basketball, and don't want him ANYWHERE near the Spurs.
But he is a league MVP and cooked us on multiple occasions...and now he is being passed around like a blunt with a run.
Batum leaving, Gordon going there, it's obvious where George is going to.
Free agent star Chris Paul intends to sign with the San Antonio Spurs, league sources tell @NBAonTNT, @BleacherReport
Dude, you clearly haven't seen enough of Cade if you think he sucks to that extent.
Details,details…
Could see that coming.
