yes, i had more hops than nate robinson, just decided i was too good for it.
If yes, how many minutes a game could you hang.

Oh ya it's not a joke thread altho others are free to ad lib.![]()
Billy Walton spend a summer hooping it at a hotspot down near Venice beach in L.A. He said make no mistake about it, there were guys who cleaned his clock. Why weren't they in the NBA? Billy said truth be told they did not want to be. Some have situations where they just don't fit in with organized commercialized basketball.
Dennis Johnsons little brother had a 50 inch verticle leap (no exaggeration). He just really wasn't into basketball as much as track and field.
at the peak of my basketball ability i dont think i would be able to bring the ball up the court against an nba defender nor get a shot off
so no
This reminds me of Jerry Jones’s “anyone can coach this team” mentality.
I highly doubt anyone here could even get the ball in bounds vs NBA players![]()
Well while standing 5-11" in shoes and with a whopping 5-7" wingspan, I was a pretty strong player BUT NO. (I'll refrain from mentioning my sub-30" vertical)
One screen from a random 7 foot center and I would be out the season
I played against D1 college players and they locked my ass up lol. I didn’t turn the ball over against them but I couldn’t do with the ball despite all my “moves”
But I think I could hit the open 3 at a pretty decent clip. or at the very least wave a towel.
When I was in junior college in Waco (spectator not a player), we played against Odessa and there was a dude that killed us. He later transferred to UNLV and won a national championship. Had a decent career in the NBA. Larry Johnson.
Maybe one guy who posts on this forum could get the ball past half court against NBA players.
I’m 6’6 and at my peak was a knockdown 3-point shooter. I think I could’ve stood in the corner and made an open 3 or two tbh. The minute you asked me to play defense against NBA players and navigate through screens, I would’ve been cooked and immediately pulled from the game.
This thread reminds me of that Scalabrine video where he takes on random fans who think they could beat him 1-on-1 and ends up cooking every single one of them with ease. Most people don’t realize how insanely good you have to be at basketball just be the 12th man on a roster tbh.
I’m 6’3” and at my peak I was about 210, very lean. I had a decent hop, good hang time, fairly quick, had a knockdown catch and shoot midrange game, and could play decent perimeter defense. I could post up and hit the turn around really well too.
All that said, not a snowball’s chance in the NBA. I’d get laughed out of G-League and likely same for most anyone here. Surprisingly, I’m seeing some pretty realistic responses. The NBA is a league for the .0000000001%

Pick and roll, lobs and running the break? Sure![]()
Another story from my childhood: when I was in middle school we had some guys from UNM come out to practice with the local high school. Their point guard was a little guy, not much taller than I was at the time. We did some one on one stuff, and he was so quick, even playing down to my level. The other two guys who showed up weren't more than 6'4" or so and could dunk like Antonio McDyess. It was spectacular to see up close, and they were just messing around. UNM was not a very good team at that time. Just otherworldly.
I’m pretty sure I’ve had pick-up game with one of the Ball brothers at a local LA Fitness, but it’s more like them dunking while I’m still at the other side. So no.
The best shooter in this forum would lose in a 3-point shootout to Jeremy Sochan.
Also could you out shred prime Steve Vai? like in a compe ion for your soul I mean.
I think some do not understand the difference between normals and professional athletes.
I was a decent hooper in HS and ran a lot at Gregory Gym at UT. Every now and then UT footballers would run with our pick up games. It was very clear the size strength and speed was another level.
No way even at my best I could fake it in pro ball.
I could certainly play.
I'm not saying I'd be good, lol
I dribble like Angel Reese... and can only go left. I'd break every turnover record there is.

I have the work ethic to play in the NBA but none of the physical freak show attributes needed to begin to spell NBA
I say no, but, I did score 6 pts on Lionel Hollins at a bball camp while in HS
Spud Webb height with the body fat of Bobcats Boris Diaw. Not a chance.
Those are amazing. He will play someone that was a decent division I player. They score the first basket on him, and once he knows how they score, he just takes that away and they never score again.
One of my grandfathers was a world class sprinter. I was pretty fast, but he was faster than me when he was 60. Naturally athletic people piss me off.![]()
Did I have NBA skills? no. I rode the bench in a small town HS.
But if the Spurs were foolish enough to pay me the minimum, I'd gladly take the deal!
Put me in coach!
