He was ejected for the choke hold afterwards...
Apparently Schroeder is allowed to go start a fight because he got the ball taken away from him, scream and rant and put hands on people, but Fournier isn't allowed to push him away.

Victor was in the low post, received the entry pass and threw an instant no-look pass back to the passer for an open three. Amazing.

Tbh, I expect Wemby to win an Olympic gold eventually.
He'll have three prime tournaments after this one, with all the talent France is producing they could be stronger than Team USA.

    Traore/Coulibaly/Risacher/Sarr/Wemby for 2028.
Stronger? I don't think so. Compe ive? Sure.

Could they win one game that matters against USA & win a le? Possibly.

Yes. It shouldn't be that way, but it probably is.

    Game was played in Germany.
Which was really obvious by how excited the announcer was when Germany scored vs when France scored.

in Victor got trapped on the baseline and hit an amazing fallaway from almost behind the backboard. One of them said, "Oh mein Gott"

this really makes you think about getting another C to pair with Victor. Markkanen could run a lot of these actions with him as well.

Canada got bronze and the US didn’t medal in the World Cup, where the gold and silver teams had barely any NBA players, let alone stars. The times are changing.

FIBA ball and NBA ball are quite different.

Not a fan tbh. I love when Vic is the only big, it give a lot moe mobility/movement and speed.

Unless is a (rare) profile like Lauri

Seems like we’re in another Rona wave, even though it’s summer.

As always, it depends on what team USA fields. That's the #1 question entering every international compe ion.

USA will keep having the deepest pool of top level players for the foreseeable future.

I see at least 3 All NBA players in Brunson, Halliburton, and Ant, plus a couple of All Stars. The teams that medaled had barely any NBA players at all. They’re just a team, and they play a better brand of ball, with a lot of motion and ball reversal.

I still think Wemby can play next to ANY good players, including true centers, and his passing with Gobert has only added to that belief.
Everyone here is convinced that Wemby is somehow so limited that he can’t share the floor with a true 5. I say that basing Wemby’s compatibility with other bigs on a year with the corpse of Collins and the knees of Bassey doesn’t really say much.
I still think Clingan was BPA at the 4th pick and would have immediately contributed to this team.

It's not about Wemby being limited, it's about his frontcourt partners being limited.

Wemby and Gobert together look great in FIBA, but in the NBA it would just make the job easier for the defense.
Non-shooting bigs aren't a positive on offense in the NBA unless they're elite post scorers, but you don't want second/third option post-scorers.

With four shooters around Wemby, defense is in an impossible situation.
That's why we want Markkanen. He's one of the best shooters in the league at 7ft.
The only two other elite shooting bigs are KAT and KP. One has a massive contract and the other one is always injured, leaving us with just Markkanen.

Of course Wemby can play alongside another center, he's just way too talented. You will never get the most out of him playing him that way though. The absolute best version of Wemby will always come with him being able to roam freely through the middle with 4 floor spacers next to him.
