Even after the debate and the shooting. If Biden sticks it out and stays in the race, he will win narrowly in November over Trump, even if it's 270 to 268 by virtue of winning the northern states by tilt margins

If Harris is the nominee the American people will laugh at her and the Dems overall. The Democrats will suffer major losses not just at the top of the ticket but also the senate will be a bloodbath as split ticketing at federal levels is rare these days and we'll end up with a 57-43 GOP Senate or possibly even a wider margin than that. Good luck to the Senate Dems ever recovering from that, at least for a generation. Plus the Dems will give up 240+ House seats to the GOP in a Harris top of ticket scenario

Someone competent like Whitmer or Shapiro might beat Trump in ordinary cir stances, but they'd lose all the campaign money. If they wanted to pick someone like them it's just way too late. Better to keep Biden healthy and on the top of the ticket this year and either win or lose narrowly and save face down ballot, all other options result in a red tsunami like the reverse of 2008 or worse.

Biden received over 98% of the delegates and won all 50 states and most territories in the primary. The Party of Democracy would surely not betray the will of their Democratic voters and force him off of the presidential ballot, especially as the in bent.

He's dropping out. All we can do is wait and see who the ollyagawky picks for the libs.
It would be a real catch-22 problem for the Democrats, both at the presidential level and down ballot.

If Harris is the nominee, the DNC keeps their campaign money, but Harris is about as electable in the general as Marjorie Taylor Greene is if the GOP were to ever nominate her for president.

If someone else is the nominee, the Democrats get a fresh face and the grassroots left enthusiasm goes up, and a more competent speaker and debater at that, but the DNC loses all their pledged money and their down ballot races get sinked. Senator Kari Lake becomes Trump's new "Election Oversight Czar".

If the Democrats want any prayer of not just an outside chance at keeping the White House but also holding the line in both chambers of Congress, then Biden must be the nominee for 2024.

Embarrassing and out of touch individuals at this convention. You know Republicans keep blaming Democrats for high gas prices, high cost of living, groceries etc, but who the do you think runs these companies responsible for the high prices? Yeah, Republicans. Dumb asses.

I think Biden probably does perform better than Harris. If she is the replacement plan then Dems are going to lose. Surely they know this.

The economy is a rolling wave and COVID made a huge impact. Americans don't seem to think the wave of COVID shutdown should ever hit, but it has. Not only have companies counted YOY losses because they raped the country during the free money for corps during COVID and couldn't match that level of revenue the following years, but they are bailing all the financially elite out by sacrificing the working class. Economy is a ing sheep constantly being sheered by the corporations, and Trump wants to skin it.

They also keep claiming gas prices were at their lowest when he was in office, but like you said, Covid shutdowns were responsible for that, not Trump or the Republican party. Just simple little like this. Also agreeing here, COVID was a huge deal for the economy. The aftermath and so forth.

I've said this all along. If Trump wants to tout low gas prices compared to Biden, sure, but you can't really count anything from March 2020 to January 2021.

2017-2019 Trump era gas prices were much cheaper than 2021-2023 Biden era prices, but to be fair, Obama's last two years were when the gas price relief started.

Praising Trump, praying to him like a ing cult. Just embarrassing. The Republican party is an abomination.
It's mainly the religion "almighty god" crap that gives cult vibes. It's like a big church in there. Praising the fake guy in the sky who isn't real for "only" letting the bullet hit Trump's ear, while the same fake guy in the sky didn't save the poor fire chief who actually worshiped him much more than Trump himself does.

The COVID talk sounds 100% like cover to keep him out of the public eye while replacing his tired ass.
Well that's certainly something the left and the right can agree on.

Eh, you could maybe argue that in 2004, but in 2024 it's 50/50 at best. You think BlackRock, Blackstone at all aren't democrat bigdonors? LMFAO. The big banks? LOL. And even the Halliburton's and Raytheon's of the world have leaned left in recent years over the culture wars and the GOP trending populist and dovish.

That virus has killed a lot of people. I guess this just further cements how far in the rear view mirror we've put 2020.

Comparing gas prices between administrations is one of the stupidest ing metrics ever. How about comparing the number of rights you've lost, or how many felonies the asshole as amassed, or how many times impeached for doing terrible while in office? How about the rapes, the hush money, all the "I'm wealthy, you're not" in your face bull that orange got does? Instead, the republicans who support him (let's face it, they are all eventually sucking him off) are like "yeah he showed you" as they return to their trailer parks like he'd give two s about any of them if they were even on fire.

Kitchen table, day to day practical issues and policy pertaining to such issues are much more important to the average voter than "muh candidate character quality"... all that court decided stuff is subjective but has zero effect on people's everyday lives.

The reason the vast majority of Democrat votes are cast are because of foodstamps, welfare, healthcare and other en lements and have zero to do with the personality of either candidate. I.e., policy; practical issues that effect people on Main Street a daily basis, rather than drama heard on the news. Similar but opposite goes for GOP votes.
