ESPN list isn't awful but there are too many agendas. For example overrating current athletes because it will be used to sell current product.
Few seem to still trust this brand. It's a shame. Most of us grew up on it.

But how would kobe and shaq, who are both better than duncan, end up only 3-2 in their head to heads during that span? Well it’s because the other players suck. Karl Malone and Gary Payton were over the hill and they are no match for rip Hamilton and rasheed. Players like Rick fox, and Robert Horry are bums. And the entire failure of 2004 is due to devean george.
So what about the horrible 05-07 stretch? Well, Lamar sucked, Caron butler didn’t even exist and we can pile all the blame on smush Parker and Kwame brown, as in every other low seed in the entire nba are filled with superstars like Chris Kaman and Quinton Ross.
How would such a phenomenal player like Kobe not dominate the nba with that frontline in the late 00s? Well because mvpau didn’t put on his big boy pants even though he led the lakers in multiple advanced stats, Lamar odom sucked because he just does and Andrew Bynum don’t like basketball.
But then how did the lakers miss the playoffs six years in a row when it only missed the playoffs 5 times in the previous 60 years? Improving the year after kobe retired with a dreadful roster led by the likes of Jordan clarkson and Julius randle? Um… those years never existed.
Also, Phil Jackson sucks. Rudy T is the worst coach ever.
Pretty much the only person who came up well in this entire thing is Derek fisher.

That's only because MSM thought Daddy was gonna best Kobe on the ring count...and went all in. Kobe catches a hanger in Florida in '09 and Fisher vs. Boston in '10 and all the sudden it's 5-4 Kobe. Mind you, MSM didn't have to go home, but they had to get the outta there.
In reality it was all a put up job the entire way. Daddy & Kobe were never estranged, swapped baby sitting chores with each other, on & on. But it made great print for the s MSM...Like Ruth & Gehrig, Bette Davis and Crawford, Mantle & Maris...all lies for commerce sake. Made a fortune.
