As much, as CP3 will help Wemby, Castle and so on, he will also clash with Malaki, thus putting an end to his Spurs career (he will break him menthaly, or get traded for nothing).

Not so bold: CP3 will not finish the season with the Spurs nontheless.

I am like 98% sure that he will be traded before the deadline to a contending team. (Denver and Philly, I am looking at you)

Either that, or he gets released at the cut deadline to sign with a contender. I see less than a 10% chance he finishes the season with us.

I ment Malaki will be gone too...maybe before CP3...maybe just coz Paul shows the Spurs, that Malaki wont win them anything.

They know that already. He’s on a cheap rookie contract, and can contribute if you don’t ask him to create for anyone else. I don’t see him going anywhere until after year 4, barring a trade to acquire assets. He won’t likely be cut or salary dumped.

The Spurs make the play-in and Wemby makes All-Star, All-NBA, DPOY. Castle makes All-Defensive and ROY.

Yeah I don't think c3p0 will be with us past the trade deadline either. Maybe we can trade him for a decent pick or a player that will last longer than half a season. Some playoff team is bound to need an experienced pg to help them in the playoffs, before he eventually gets hurt in the conference semis or finals.

CP3 will stay the entire season and get another one year deal with the Spurs before he retires.

Barnes will be by far the best wing on the roster. Not much of a feat, but still.

Wemby will get some points in MVP voting and easily win DPOY.

Castle will show he's a natural point guard and Tre will be traded before the deadline.

    - Vassell will have a breakout season (with huge playmaking improvements)

    - Wemby will average less bloks/game than last season ( still win DPOY)

    - Cp3 will not finish the season (avoided answering on that spec point with a "I just wanna hoop blabla")

    - Castle's playmaking will make the previous point/decisison easy to take

Last season, three players were significantly better offensively when Tre Jones, a competent PG, was on the court: Wembanyama, Vassell and Branham.

Playing with Paul should help these 3 players like playing with Tre did last season. Basketball-wise, Paul's signing is a good news for Branham.

I'm going to be watching closely the efficiency of certain guys with CP3 vs Tre. It's easy to say CP3 is better, which he is, but Tre helmed one of the best lineups in the league in terms of Net Rating (5th best 5 man lineup in the league with min > 100).

Honestly, a significant part of me we should just start that lineup (Tre-Dev-Keldon-Sochan-Wemby) now that we have a deeper bench with the additions of Paul, Barnes and Castle. However, we know that's not the plan. Will be curious to see if a better player makes a better lineup (though there are other variables we'll have to keep in mind when comparing season over season).

Another guy to keep and eye on would be Keldon. He's been asked to be the man on the 2nd unit for a couple of years now; this season he'll actually have a real PG to help.

    Consider (23/24 player pairs, https://www.nba.com/stats/lineups/ad...ort=GROUP_NAME )

Keldon + Wesley -10.3 Net RTG
Keldon + Malaki -12.8 Net RTG

Keldon + Tre: -1.9 Net RTG

I think I would rather have Barnes or Champagnie start than Keldon.

It will be nice to have 48 minutes of competent PG play each night. Well, 48 minus however many PG minutes Castle gets, until Castle can prove that he's at least competent at that position. It would be great to have that be sooner rather than later or never.

Tre can't pass with confidense below the FT line.

    That'll be a massive difference

Wemby will average his post-all star numbers, Vassel, Sochan, Wesley, Champagnie, Collins and Malaki won't improve, Castle will show that he can play PG but his shooting will limit him.

Spurs will finish 6th from the bottom and get the number 1 pick next year plus number 4 from Atlanta. Next summer, the Spurs will trade a lot of their picks to get a superstar to play along Wemby and Flag.

    Yep. I fear that too.

    One of Pops Pets.
Even this talk of him becoming coach after he sucks down salary and playing time for at least 2 more years.

I do have some faith that Wemby and his team are not gonna put up with this for long.

If CP0 gets the right PEDs and plays well i will more then gladly eat crow.

Spurs were a disaster last season when Tre Jones wasn't on the floor:
Total +/- for the whole season:
Spurs with Tre (2138 minutes): -22
Spurs without Tre (1828 minutes): -510

I was more looking at players who performed better individually when Tre was on the floor. For example:

    Branham with Tre (532 min): 24.4 points per 100 possessions with a .534 eFG%
    Branham without Tre (1063 min): 18.6 points per 100 possessions with a .488 eFG%

    Keldon with Tre (867 min): 23.4 points per 100 possessions with a .520 eFG%
    Keldon without Tre (1171 min): 26.4 points per 100 possessions with a .532 eFG%

You can find these stats there: https://www.pbpstats.com/on-off/nba/...ayerId=1630200

As always, with stats, it could be some kind of fluke but, in that case, I think there is a conclusion to draw from them. Branham is a quite sounded offensive player who will do better in a well structured offense compared to a more chaotic one that relies more on 1vs1 skills. Vassell and Wembanyama are kinda the same except they have more individual skills to shine when the offense isn't well set.
