KJ looking very slim in this clip

At first he was Big Body to play the much needed PF position which Keldon proved to be too short. So now he’s slimming down to move faster to play and defend the SF position. What’s next?

Sounds weird but he is such a good soldier, that I asume it to be true.

Not sure how I feel about a slimmer Keldon. That big body was a reason he as able to make so many hustle plays around the rim. I know he is spending more time on the perimeter as a wing but it’ll take more than slimming down to improve his D.

I remember hearing an interview years ago with Phil Jackson where he talked about the off season the year after Jordan came back from his baseball retirement, where he said the team's main goal was upgrading the PF position. He sat down with the GM and other guys and made a list of the PFs they wanted most, and at the top of the list was Derrick Coleman of the Nets. Rodman was like 7th or 8th on the list, but as time moved on and none of the other PFs were available, that's who they finally got. In retrospect, Rodman was probably a better fit than Coleman, so they really lucked out in that sense.

Coleman was way more talented, but he was a drunk. Terrible waste.

I thought Keldon already tried slimming down to play more on the perimeter? Regardless, I think the new players this year will make that move easier as in he could get more easy looks and not have to self create, but also more of a necessity for him with Sochan and Barnes playing the 4. Hopefully it works out.

Coleman had a more well rounded overall game, but I think this was one of those situations where Rodman's strengths were actually a better fit. Coleman scored more but was relatively inefficient, so taking shots away from Jordan, Pippen, & Kukoc might've been counterproductive, whereas Rodman not caring at all about shot attempts and being obsessed with offensive rebounding made him ideal.

Agreed. You just can’t replicate what Rodman brought to the table when he was in the right environment for him which is a BIG when.

Thank god EPL, CFB, and NFL are back because this is the deadest portion of the sports calender and only sickos that like baseball are happy. Need some regular season basketball to start.

The Olympics were crucial this summer. MLB is pretty slow until it gets good in October but I watch what I can. I've been watching GOLF channel a lot. College softball and Little League World Series plus I guess NBA Summer League are all you get otherwise for the entire summer and it kinda sucks.

Was watching Florida Atlantic NCAA football and the Patriots preseason game this weekend like sighting land after being lost at sea

Rodman is a defensive genius, with a basketball IQ comparable to the greats
