Worth noting that DL Malcom Simpson of Hitch transferred over from Galveston Ball.

IT confirmed the guy they were referencing is Simpson, and they had a few notes on him:

• he grew up playing basketball and football with S Jonah Williams, and they're close friends
• he hasn't had the easiest upbringing, so he decided to transfer to Hitch after his junior year and that's been a positive move for him
• the Galveston Ball coaches rave about his athletic ability, but say he's an even better person
• when IT first went to Galveston Ball to check on Williams, the locals actually raved more about Simpson calling him a "freak"

“I’m solid with Nebraska, but I love Texas,” Simpson told Inside Texas. “I would love to come up to a visit and watch a game, and check some things out.”

“I honestly just spoke with them,” said Simpson. “(Baker) just told me keep doing what I’m doing and keep putting in work to get bigger. They all seem like real stand up guys and coaches.”

Maybe he has put on a little more muscle/weight since his last update, but he seems a little light for a DT.

IT mentioned today they've heard Simpson is hovering around 280 currently.

I don't anticipate Texas going JUCO because they're having success in the portal, but here's a name to file away at DT.

His recruitment is picking up a bit and he's playing for Trinity Valley currently.

On3 reporting Texas is a "wildcard" for LB offer Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng from IMG Academy.

He says an official visit in the fall is a possibility.

“Texas is in the mix and they are the wildcard for me,” says Owusu-Boateng. “They started texting me in the spring, we are talking some and they want me to come out and visit. I have former teammates there, so Texas has my interest. I could take an official visit out there during the season.”

“It is a great program, but I still have a lot to learn about them. They are in the SEC, they are doing well and Texas is being considered. They aren’t up there with the top five yet, but it is a school I am taking a look at.”

247 reporting Owusu-Boateng will be in Austin for the Georgia game on October 19th.

He mentioned he hears a lot from his former IMG Academy teammates, RB Jerrick Gibson and S Jordon Johnson-Rubell.

I didn't want to leave, but didn't have much of a choice at the time.

I needed some extra income for the family and luckily HornSports provided that opportunity for five years, but I couldn't do both.

The plan was always to come back when I could afford to, and glad it all worked out.
