I'm not a lawyer, but Prof. Taub is. It could be that Trump admitting (unrelated) crimes after his fraud convictions but before his sentencing could be problematic.

If and when the GA case goes forward, this interview will be used against him. And as winehole said, the NYDA could also use his comments to recommend that the felon receive a harsher sentence.
Personally, I believe he is doing this to get the public to believe this is normal and correct presidential behavior and he had nothing to hide.
Unfortunately for him, the legal system will prove he ed up.
