    Let's get this party started.

HEADLINE: Brittany Mahomes and her family, and Harrison Butker are diehard Republicans. Patrick Mahomes himself is a well-known moderate who plays both sides, while the Kelce brothers and Taylor Swift are well-known liberals. Will their political divide undo them like the personal issues divided the dynasty Lakers of the early 2000s, over the biggest election in American history in 2024?

    Pick 'Ems (Straight-Up) 2024 Edition

    Thursday, 09/05/2024

BAL @ KC - Chiefs are better, but this truly could go either way. It's opening day. We saw what happened last year with all the drops.

    Friday, 09/06/2024

GB @ PHI (Brazil) - I think the Eagles will regress in 2024 with no Kelce (they already regressed pretty hard in the last third of 2023) and it's the Packers and Lions at the top of the NFC North. Neutral site game.

    Sunday, 09/08/2024

PIT @ ATL - I like the Steelers in 2024 to do some damage even in a tough division. Tomlin typically has the boys ready in week 1's, even on the road.
AZ @ BUF - My survivor pick. Bills will regress in 2024 and won't get another cupcake this easy at home all season.
TEN @ CHI - Will be hyped as the Caleb Williams coming out party game, though the ans may be one of the worst teams in the NFL in 2024.
NE @ CIN - Burrow's waited a long time for this moment, and the Patriots don't have a proper head coach at the moment. Should be a blowout.
HOU @ IND - Wouldn't be surprised to see this game go either way or even end in a tie; it has before, multiple times I believe. But Stroud is the better QB.
JAX @ MIA - The Dolphins play well at home in the Tua/McDaniel era especially early in the season.
CAR @ NO - Don't believe in either team for 2024 but the Saints are obviously the better of the two. The Panthers are a dumpster fire at the moment.
MIN @ NYG - Another two NFC teams I don't see making the playoffs in 2024 but the Giants are probably the better of the two teams.
LV @ SD - Herbert in a similar spot as Burrow coming off the injury, and I don't see the Raiders doing well in 2024. Should have traded a 1st for Dak. #FreeDavante
DEN @ SEA - Seattle having home field advantage is important here, though both teams appear to be middling or worse for 2024.
DAL @ CLE - This one could go either way, but Dallas has serious early-season injuries on defense and Cleveland has a fairly complete roster.
WAS @ TB - Both teams have below average starting QBs and this one could go either way and be an ugly, very low-scoring affair.

LAR @ DET - I like the Lions more than the Rams in 2024 as contenders but this game should be compe ive like last year's playoff edition.

    Monday, 09/09/2024

NYJ @ SF - I don't like this as a survivor pick, but it's true that Aaron Rodgers plays horrible against this team historically especially on the road.

Hopefully Tyreek Hill replacement. And WTF on that last sack @ the refs missing a blatant offsides on the Baltimore left defensive edge rusher?

Sackson fumble loss after the bad no call Baltimore got away with on last Chiefs possession... I guess ball don't lie.

Hopefully the defenses will win more 4th downs like that across the league so you'll start seeing less coaches pushing the envelope in those type situations. Good job Chiefs D.

Justin Sucker lost it, like Dan Bailey in 2017. Time for Baltimore to get a new kicker.

Once again, ball don't lie. Multi gs' RavenRefs get away with a blatant unsportsmanlike conduct, late hit out of bounds on the QB, two plays later, quick strike TD, Mahomes to Worthy.

Can't hate.... wish Dallas had both of them. And their coach. And owner. Instead of what we got.

Yeah, it seems like he's selling out to win one game and it's week 1, not the playoffs. You would understand this type of play if it was the AFCCG, not ing week 1. I know tiebreakers and all but if you couldn't beat them at home in the AFCCG last year why are you more afraid of having to go back to Arrowhead this year?

Also, Harbaugh is an idiot for burning 2 timeouts (just like his brother always did with the Niners... Robz4000 can confirm... back in the 2010s)... in the 3rd quarter as well as not kicking that first field goal on that first 4th down after the Andrews catch-and-slip which would have saved them 2-3 minutes.

Reid's a pretty piss poor clock manager too. I get that you're afraid of Harbaugh challenging that, but it was pretty clear that it was at minimum hard to overturn and on the field looked like Pacheco didn't have a body part down, so why are you snapping the ball with 17 seconds on the play clock there? And then running with your rookie fullback from an ace back set on 2nd down. Why, just why?

The Chiefs need another regular back and probably a scatback too. Or they at least need to use Samaje Perine more. That dude was a baller in Cincinnati in 2021.

Mahomes bailed out Reid's poor playcall on that 3rd down pretty largely too by catching his own deflected pass, but now the Ravens still have a chance to steal the game with the TD and two-point conversion. 2 minutes left no timeouts but prevent defense and plenty of weapons.

Yep. Chimp it up the whole game and then can't make a throw to save his life at the end.

those last 2 throws before the last one that was actually good but unlucky, were absolutely inexcusable, and reminded me of Dak (and Romo) both times.

What a Dak Prescott / Cowturds -like ending for Lamar and the Ravens.

Yeah, I don't see them doing better than 10-7 in 2024. Jets take that division easily if A-Rod stays healthy.
