OTF reporting Texas is expected to seriously pursue five-star '26 OL/DL Lamar Brown of Baton Rouge, LA.
They believe he'll be recruited as a DL, and the staff will have a shot with a "big push" since he's currently not a lock to stay close to home.

Their source says it's definitely not Georgia, and they're hearing some Texas talk.
One thing he told 247 after he visited campus earlier in the summer is that he has family in Dallas, and his parents want to move to Texas when he's in college no matter what university he signs with.
OTF added that the chatter is mostly about Auburn, Tennessee and Texas right now.
He said the Texas staff feels like they're very much in the race, and a source at Hicks' high school thinks it's at least 50/50 that he picks the Horns.

I’ve seen this sort of momentum before, and not just at Texas. Remember, I’ve been covering recruiting for 30+ years professionally, so I’ve seen runs by other teams like Florida State (1990s), USC (2000s), Bama (2010s) and Georgia (2020s) during that time frame. Texas is absolutely headed in that same direction.

There are rumors out there that he's making an early decision because he will be reclassifying to 2025 and graduating early.

On3's Director of Recruiting, Chad Simmons, posted on IT this morning that he's hearing a lot of Texas buzz for Hicks, and it's been that way since he visited Austin earlier in the summer.
Hicks and his father speak highly of their relationship with Coach Gideon.
IT reporting the Nebraska visit this past weekend for Terry III was great, but their source has Texas remaining in the lead.

According to OTF, '26 RB target Javian Osborne of Forney is a possibility to return to campus this weekend for the UTSA game.

Wells at IT has put in a Texas pick for Hicks, and Nahlin is going to as well.
They mentioned if Hicks does graduate early, Texas will wrap things up at safety for the '25 class with Hicks and J. Williams.
For what it's worth, one of Nebraska's On3 mods doesn't believe Terry III will end up in Lincoln.
