Vivek is more of an anathema to the general public than his buddy Vance. Regardless, he'll get like 7% in the primary, and post-Trump I could see the nomination coming down to Vance and DeSantis, either of which is probably toast in the general for opposite reasons. Hardcore Trumpers don't really like DeSantis, and mainstream conservatives don't really like Vance.
Cat meat is actually stringy and tough, for the most part, inedible apart from grinding it up and making burgers or cooking it very very very slow. It's also very lean and gamey. I've tasted wild boar a couple times and not a fan, and have heard from a few Malaysian acquaintances/ co workers that also were TAs back in college that cat meat is fairly comparable to that.
Dog meat is also on the leaner side usually and VERY gamey and pungent flavored. Not for everyone. Has to be cooked just right AND seasoned very well, but it's generally more tender at least than cat meat. People have told me it's like eating very strong tasting venison. They've told me if I'm visiting a place like South Korea to avoid the braised/grilled dog meat and for a first time dog meat eater the dog soup/stew is a much better choice to get used to the pungent flavor.

Definitely not Haitian or foreign and have not and would not eat anyone's pets. In America, Europe and many other places it is illegal to even eat stray / feral cats or dogs that are not pets. Heck, I'm a pork eater but I would never eat anyone's pet pig. I've eaten quite a few rabbits in my life but I've never eaten nor would eat someone's pet bunny.
When traveling abroad and in a place like South Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia... when dealing with animals specifically raised for meat, including say dog meat for soup, I might try it once just to do it because yolo. It's not the same as eating pets. Heck even stealing someone's chicken raised for livestock is about equally as bad because you're stealing one's property in any case.
If the dog, cat, whatever has never been a pet in its lifetime and has always been raised as livestock, what makes it less humane than eating a cow, pig, goat, sheep, or bird raised for livestock? Why should Westerners be the holy standard of quasi-sharia law globally on what animals can and can't be eaten?
