The Pac 2 really had no choice there. It'll be interesting to see who else they add. Hawaii?
Here's a stat I came across this morning.
As A&M heads to Florida this weekend, they're trying to break a three-year road losing streak.
They haven't won a true road game since October 16, 2021 against Missouri.
I've been thinking about that this morning since they'll need at least two more teams (total of eight) in order to be considered an FBS conference in 2026.
Air Force, Hawaii, Nevada, San Jose State, UNLV and Utah State make sense geographically.
New Mexico, New Mexico State and UTEP also make sense geographically and have a decent TV market, but are less attractive athletically.
Without looking at contract situations and if they wanted to follow the ACC's lead, they could go across country for a Texas State and/or UTSA.
If elevating teams from the FCS is a last-ditch option, the best programs in that league happen to be in the general area with all the Dakotas, Montanas and Idaho.
The #1 thing these days is TV market so I doubt they add the Wyoming/ Montana/ Dakota 30 combined TV sets.
If it was me, yeah I'd be looking at UTSA but instead of Texas State, maybe Rice or even North Texas.
Texas State is crushing Arizona State right now.
Went down 7-0 to start game, and now 21-7 after three straight offensive TDs.
Annnnd it's tied at half 21-21.
Great game
