Idk why but it seems like Trump is genuinely scared of her. I mean he went after Hillary like a dog, but with Harris for some reason he was subdued and tamed. Even the next day he gave her a handshake. I wonder if he thinks he gonna lose and he’s kissing up to her so she doesn’t come after him when/if she gets elected?
Scared by the idea the the race he thought he was his is being pulled out of his reach by a minority woman.
The humiliation of a loss is what scares him most (plus the side of legal issues that will bite him as a private citizen).

What Merchan, Jack Smith, and Georgia do isn't in Kamala's hands, win or lose, so she won't be "coming after him". If anything if she won in that hypothetical she might even try to pardon him as much as possible to score bipartisan brownie points and de-enthuse that base for turning out in 2028 (obviously, it won't be Trump on the ballot in 2028, and there are a lot of only-Trump type voters; that would only vote for a spite GOP candidate if she went after their leader Trump but would be less enthused to rage and vote against her in 2028 if she ran for a second term against a Desantis type candidate (don't think Vance is on the shortlist if Trump loses this year tbh; also the boomer Trumper types aren't the biggest Desantis fans to say the least). "Bury the hatchet" is historically a good bi-partisan move. People on the right may hate Kamala's policy but they won't be able to say she's vengeful and spiteful against her opponent anymore. The two-tiered system of injustice argument will go away. Trump's political career will be over, why anger ~45% of the country by incarcerating him after beating him in the election again? Spite is a weak political move and will anger not just conservatives but also independents.
But that's also a major hypothetical and rabbit hole. I don't think Trump thinks he's going to lose and I think he didn't prep very well for the debate compared to the Biden debate and he's a little overconfident if anything but he is still the favorite to carry PA and the election at this point. Kamala has neither 'Scranton Joe' nor Shapiro, now. She might sweep the NFC North states narrowly but even two of those will be razor thin either way. She isn't winning in the sun belt apart from CO, CA, probably NM and VA.
Heck if Trump wins GA/PA you can probably call the election for Trump on election night given the new counting laws in GA, drastically improved counting in PA over 2020 and the fact you'd be at 270 even if you lose NE-02, VA/NH/NM/CO and the entire NFC North belt, and that's WITHOUT relying on AZ or NV who count slowly and don't get called on election night if it's remotely close.
But you're not voting for Trump. Sure.
