He had white wrist tape in those runs he was doing last week that ballislife put a sizzle reel of up on X. Might be something he adjusted to and likes the feel of going forward, cant imagine him doing non Spur runs if it was still an issue. I just hope it doesn't/hasn't impact him working on his shot too much cause that is where his efforts are probably focused quite a bit.
. Yeah I think you're right. I remember watching that run when it dropped and thought it was a sweat band (akin to tennis one) but on second watch think it might be tape.
Getting my eye in early, still in pre-season shape.

Keldon really looks slim, and his post “rise from zero.” Keldon is in a mission.

That absolutely brilliant that Keldon has turned that number change into a positive thing. Is that a shoe brand that is sponsoring him? If so, is this the first season he'll be wearing them?

WTF?! He is exactly what a le contending team would want. He gives depth of talent, he's a teacher to the younger players, he's a role model in the locker room. Any contending team that could onboard him for a run at a championship would love to have Chris Paul.

In fact, if he wants a run at a championship, we could send him to a contender at the trade deadline.

Have him teach our young guns and get to draft pics for him. Win-win.
If a contending team wanted Chris Paul, he wouldn't be on the Spurs.

You are going to get exactly 0 draft picks for a 39 year old nobody will want to trade for.

Contending teams wouldn’t be able to offer him $11M. He can collect most of that, and go out for a 56-60 protected second rounder in 2031.

looks like it is him. Thanks

im really rooting for the underdogs on the team: minix, duke jr, flynn, cissoko

i want one of them to stick and get a julian champagnie type extension. Would be cool to see the Spurs continue to build this way and get key contributors from out of nowhere and for cheap

im surprised neither brandon boston jr and bouyea arent in the pic.

Out of all these players, it’s duke jr’s game that’s the most appealing to me

I don’t even pay attention to two ways any more. We have too many draft picks for them to get a realistic chance, and based on the last two seasons, these won’t be the two ways we finish the season with, anyway. In 2026, we have four SRPs from other teams, plus our own. If as expected CHA tanks again, their pick converts to two SRPs, one of which is in 2026, giving us a total of 6 SRPs that year.

As for Julian,he really only got a shot because we were in the middle of a two year tank, and we had stripped all of the high level talent off the roster, leaving some openings. He and Bassey were both beneficiaries of good timing and a bit of luck.

Edit: one of those SRPs is a swap, so the actual count is only 5 in 2026.

    Edit #2: quicker than I thought…

    A few more observations:

Wesley in a white beater and basketball shorts… just missing the house shoes haha.

Looks like Sochan rocking an AP or a Hublot on his wrist to match the whip.

Well… that’s why they’re underdogs. Their chance of sticking doesn’t rely on solely their own promising performance through spotty opportunities, but their consistent superb play that earns the trust of their coaches enough to play over current guys on the roster who have more secure contracts. The players they outplay (could be anyone from Keldon to Collins) then become expendable and used as trade bait, or they can even just let them walk. These underdogs also have an advantage over their future pick counterparts by being here already and knowing how to play, and those picks could be packaged for players who know how to play already as well.

As the years go by, the Spurs team will have less need for players coming from the draft that they’d be forced to develop. This team’s moves will be reminiscent of days they cycled through vets by trading for them, signing them, or whatever means necessary.

I have to disagree with this. Wemby’s extension will probably be SuperMax, in the vicinity of $60M per year. If we trade for a second star, say Lauri, you’d be talking another $40M or more, $100M for two contracts. You need those draft picks as cheap labor.

That’s under the assumption that the assets we have (made expendable by the underdogs) are used to trade for a star. I believe there will be trades for players that are in the Harrison Barnes tier (maybe a tad better) player. You said in your post we have six SRPs, I don’t believe at all that any of those will be a priority over guys we get earlier who play well and are on a two way. Adding SRPs to a trade package isn’t really a sweetener of any sort to land any star, and that’s why I say that the trades I imagine happening in the future are more for proven veterans.
