DL Malcolm Simpson of Hitch talks about his visit to UT over the weekend (247):
"The Texas visit was very good," Simpson told Horns247. "We actually talked a lot with the coaches, talking to Coach (Kenny) Baker, the D-line coach. He was telling me he was watching my film the past couple weeks. Texas felt good about my film. I talked with the head coach, him telling me keep my grades right and I don't have to worry about nothing as long I get everything done."
"I really don't know," Simpson said of an offer timeline. "The last time I checked I'm supposed to be talking to them again when I go back to watch their game against Georgia."
"For me, if they gave me the offer, I'd feel like I'm really reaching my goals, changing myself from what I used to be. I'd know I'm really doing something with my life and I'm capable of being a big part of the team."
"It was crazy because I had never been to a Texas game at night time," he said. "I've watched so many times on YouTube and seeing it in person is ridiculous. The light show when they had the lights on and they're saying 'Texas Fight' was just crazy."
"Texas' defensive line is really good. Basically I was watching film all day yesterday. Basically whatever their D-line was doing, (I wanted to see if) I could do it in my game. I watched 95 and I watched 11. I watched 11, how he was at D-end, using his hand, I watched 95 stay in his gaps. It was like film yesterday. Basically just seeing whatever they do, seeing if I can do that on the field."
"I'm truly strong with Nebraska," he said. "I haven't been to one of their games yet. I've been working on my schoolwork. I want to come down to one of their games. I just want to come back to Lincoln. I still talk to Coach Knighton, I still talk to the head coach, I still talk to all the coaches there. You know, I just wanted to come see Texas and see whatever they have for me."
