I was just curious if you donated that's all. I haven't.
Do you really need to have the purpose of a fundraiser explained to you? Obviously not. Do you ask the same question of celebrities when they hold fundraisers and galas why they didn't just donate all of their own money instead of asking people who have far less money to help out for a good cause? If you read the link I shared with zOsa you'd see he's got a ton of cash tied up fighting multiple civil suits.
I don't think that's right either. I don't think people who have more than more than enough should be asking for other people's money. I believe fundraisers should be for people who are regular people that are looking to pool funds for a good cause.
If ChumpDumper started a GoFundMe page asking others to donate how much money would ChumpDumper have raised in a week?

I believe fundraisers that rich people put together for good causes are mostly for attention and are mostly stunts.
But name recognition is what brings in more money to these fundraisers.
As long as the money actually goes to the good cause who ing cares what led them to hold the fundraiser.
Or to pocket charity funds…
