Explain to me why that matters? I don't have a lot of money. But Donald Trump has a lot of money. Why is he asking other people for money when he could just help on his own?
I was just curious if you donated that's all. I haven't.

Do you really need to have the purpose of a fundraiser explained to you? Obviously not. Do you ask the same question of celebrities when they hold fundraisers and galas why they didn't just donate all of their own money instead of asking people who have far less money to help out for a good cause? If you read the link I shared with zOsa you'd see he's got a ton of cash tied up fighting multiple civil suits.

I don't think that's right either. I don't think people who have more than more than enough should be asking for other people's money. I believe fundraisers should be for people who are regular people that are looking to pool funds for a good cause.

Did those people make GoFundMe pages asking others to donate?

    Do you see the difference?

    Of course you don't.
If ChumpDumper started a GoFundMe page asking others to donate how much money would ChumpDumper have raised in a week?

    Do you see the difference?

    Of course you don't.

It's now up to 4.6 million. Should Trump have never authorized and attached his name to that GoFundMe page?

I believe fundraisers that rich people put together for good causes are mostly for attention and are mostly stunts.

But name recognition is what brings in more money to these fundraisers.

As long as the money actually goes to the good cause who ing cares what led them to hold the fundraiser.

    Or to pocket charity funds…

Judge fines Trump $2 million for misusing charity foundation

New York state Judge Saliann Scarpulla imposed the penalty after the president admitted to a series of abuses outlined in a lawsuit brought against him last year by the New York attorney general’s office.

Among other things, Trump acknowledged in a legal filing that he allowed his presidential campaign staff to coordinate with the Trump Foundation in holding a fundraiser for veterans during the run-up to the 2016 Iowa caucuses. The event was designed “to further Mr. Trump’s political campaign,” Scarpulla said.

The president admitted, among other things, to arranging for the charity to pay $10,000 for a 6-foot portrait of him. He also agreed to pay back $11,525 in foundation funds that he spent on sports memorabilia and champagne at a charity gala.

If people gave only because Trump started a page, that's sadder than your slavish support for him. I think GoFundMe pages are fine.

    How much did Trump donate?

Trump election conspiracist Tina Peters sentenced to 9 years in prison by Colorado judge

Tina Peters, a former Colorado Republican county clerk who espoused the false conspiracy theory that former President Donald Trump lost the 2020 election due to ballot fraud, was sentenced Thursday to nine years in prison for crimes related to a breach of her county’s voting system.

“You are no hero,” state District Court Judge Matthew Barrett told Peters. “You’re a charlatan who used and is still using your prior position in office to peddle a snake oil that’s been proven to be junk time and time again.”

“Your lies are well do ented, and these convictions are serious. I’m convinced you’d do it all over again if you could,” Barrett told the former Mesa County clerk.

    Et tu girls???

Former Trump White House aides Alyssa Farah Griffin, Cassidy Hutchinson, and Sarah Matthews, will make the case against the reelection of Donald Trump in a fireside chat in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, on October 9, 2024.

A source involved told CNN that the four women will “offer a warning about the threat Donald Trump poses to democracy and the rule of law,” making the case about “the need for independents, moderates, and Republicans to stop him from getting back in office.”
