it's not clear how that works as a strategy, but maybe the real endgame here is Bibi clinging to power as long as possible by appeasing settlers and other far-right zealots, damn the consequences. on the face of it it looks very dangerous to Israel: the massacres are piling up and the bloodstain is growing from country to country. not sure I can imagine a better cradle for regional, generational grudges than the current limited operations of the IDF.
