Bediako was with Orlando SL team instead of being with Spurs' one, which was a first sign he was on his way out. With Nathan Mensah likely ending in Austin, trading him away sounds like a logical move.

They're hiring Knicks player development coach Scott King to be their new head coach . . . continuing their long tradition of having the whitest coaching pipeline extant.

Sure, they'll check the token black box with the lightest skinned biracial person they can find, but otherwise they're perpetually lily white.

This will be first season in a long time that I probably won’t watch or follow any of the Spurs G League- It is kinda shocking that a team as bad is has no one in the pipeline to move up.

Johnson and Pride have been traded for future draft picks since that.

Diallo was with Spurs SL team. He was nothing special but it's a good news that Austin Spurs got a decent backup for Mensah. He is Senegalese so there might have some connection between that pick and Guorgui Dieng who is now assistant GM of Austin Spurs.

I have no idea if Steven Richardson is any good.

I'm surprised to see Malachi Flynn there. It takes a lot of humility to accept going in the G-League like that after 4 years in the NBA.

^ It could be linked to Nathan Mensah leaving Austin to go in Europe. Mensah just signed with Olympiacos, one of the best team in Europe.

Austin Spurs have played a lot of small ball this season. Their starting lineup in their latest game was Bouyea/Flinn/Duke/Minix/Ingram.

I haven't looked their games but Minix is posting some nice stats with them.

Good for Mensah. I'm not sure why he was coming off the bench as well as he was playing. The Toros are seriously height challenged at this point but their four guard rotation is one of the best in the league. I can't expect their bigs to get less raw in time for the showcase. Hopefully the mothership is healthy enough to send Sidy down for the weekend.

Minix plays well but seems a little heavy legged to play in the NBA. I hope he can find a way.

Only one way to find out. After all, Minix can shoot -- 44.7% from three, 54.6% overall and 85.7% from the line.

This might be the least interested in our G-League team as I've ever been. There just isn't a single developmental player to get excited about. They should at least send Sidy down there... what else is he going to do? One area that's going to become more important for this team is scouting for second round prospects. There are quite obviously plenty of them available instead of just punting them away.

It seems to go well in Austin with them being at the top of the Western Conference with a 13-6 record.

What's weird is how little interaction there has been this year between Spurs and their G-league team. 4 Spurs players (Cissoko, Minix, Duke and Ingram) have played in Austin and with Spurs. These 4 players have only played garbage time with Spurs.

I'm not pointing that to trash Spurs. You can't blame Spurs to have drafted with Castle a player too good to need some development in G-league. You can't blame Spurs to have been healthy enough to no need their 15th to 18th players to fill a rotation. You even can't really blame Spurs to have traded the 8th pick given that this trade helped them getting Fox.

It is just strange to think that the whole G league ecosystem with assignments and two ways contracts has been basically useless this year to a rebuilding team like Spurs.

Minix was the real project with potential and he's out for the season.

Sure he can. One can argue about his ceiling but the project is generally whether a player can get to the next level.

Projects usually take a few years to develop, Minix should've been ready to contribute right away in some quan y, like that Post guy is doing for GSW.

Eh, he's transitioning from NAIA center a couple years back to possible NBA combo forward. He would have made some appearances with the mothership had he not been injured.

We have Mamu who's a similar archetype, has years of NBA experience and is solid at what he does, but isn't good enough to be a regular rotation member.
*Mamu being better than Keldon doesn't mean Keldon is good enough, either. Just family values at work.

    And?

Were talking about a two way player.
