I disagree on "false equivocation". Pop has a ton of power within the Spurs Organization, the NBA, and the media landscape. He's a big voice people listen to in general. I commented that it's ironic and hypocritical that Pop (as a leader) is saying Trump is someone his grandkids shouldn't look up to as a leader when Pop as a leader has berated the media and complained about them to their face. I don't know what Pop had in mind when he said this soliloquy about Trump. Perhaps he secretly hoped that it would be picked up in the media and that the whole United States would suddenly become aware of the disaster that would be a return of Trump to power.
