Spurs going to end up winning this game by 20 and the horror show we saw in the first half will just be swept under the rug by the Sniff Crew, the Sniff Media, and the team.
You know, Quasimodo predicted all this

Well it is the awful Jazz, but dub is a dub.

Maybe shooters will warm up throughout the season.

Castle plays better when he is on the court with Paul and Wemby. He just seems to make the right plays out there.

Nah. Simmons is on an expiring. Keldon has two more years after this one and Collins has one more year. It's the one in a million scenario where BKY could actually get paid for Ben Simmons.
Damn, didn't realize he was already expiring tbh.

    Wemby +43

    Collins -21 (in 11 minutes)

If that isn't a microcosm of the Wemby Spurs era so far I don't know what is

He’s 20 years old you ing re . His coaching staff is supposed to put him in better positions to succeed.

Guarantee you don’t know more about ball than Sean. Shut the up.
Awwww...see another idiot that can't take someone being even a little critical of Wemby.

I'll add you and your over the top defense of people that don't know you to my ignore list.

And I'm quite aware that a former 1st round pick knows more about ball than me, you and anyone else in Spurs Nation. Doesn't mean he can't spread the criticism and we can do without coddling Victor.

    Have a nice night, lunatic.

Dudes one of the best 3 point shooters on the team. I think he chucks them a lot cause he knows most of the other guys are absolutely worthless on that end.
He is. And maybe he feels like a 7'5 Kevin Durant is pretty much unstoppable. He makes enough of them where I could see him becoming a knockdown shooter.

Had the Spurs at 2-3 after the first five games so they're where I expected tbh. Fwiw I predicted them to win 35 games this year.

They fell out of love with the three, things turned around. A win’s a win, but this was more our guys finally taking what the Jazz have been giving them all night. A few fun plays sure. But man, the first half was just fighting over who wanted the L more.

I'm pretty impressed with Chris Paul. You can tell when the Spurs get aging players and they look washed and Chris Paul just doesn't look washed up at all. I'm not saying he's as good as he was 10 years ago, but he doesn't look old. Best playmaker we've had in years, still can get to his shots and has a smooth jumper on nights they are falling, handles are still sharp. Usually a 40 year old PG looks every bit of 40 years old.

Wait, people are really entertaining the idea of adding Simmons to this roster? Not only that, but givinf out first rounders to do it?

Sure, adding the king of non-shooters is exactly what this team needs.

Wemby 5 x 5 and a ridiculous stat line overall. Obviously launching 13 3's and only hitting 4 of them is bad, but whatever, a W is a W.

    Minnesota on Saturday

People on here have called out Wemby. But hard to stay focused on his bad play when the spurs have other terrible players on the roster. You can’t just put all the blame on Victor.
Not doing that at all, but if he gave the team average or better than average play they'd be 4 - 1 or 3 - 2.

We've seen great big men drag bad/poor rosters to the playoffs. I don't think the Spurs are close to that, yet I do think they should win 8 - 10 games more games than last season.

If this is the version of Wembanyama we see all season (minus this good game) than that definitely won't happen.

Did not know Champ knew how to shoot a layup.
Collins can actually play center minutes and despite the meming, he's actually had a pretty good year so far. Mamu is competing for the 10th spot in the rotation, which is currently what Branham and Wesley are competing for. It's hard to see where he will play when the rotation is healthy.

    Paul, Jones
    Vassell, Castle
    Barnes, Johnson
    Sochan, Mamu
    Wembanyama, Collins

Is that the best rotation, or should Wesley, Branham or Champangie fill get that last spot instead?
Agree on Collins. People like to dunk on him but he’s had a good season so far.

With Johnson’s shooting problems right now, my preferred Top 10 are:

    Paul, Jones
    Vassell, Champagne
    Barnes, Castle
    Sochan, Mamu
    Wembs, Collins

    Notes:
    - Malaki can overtake Champagne if he can show better offense and decision making.
    - In no way should Castles minutes be cut.
    - The “defensive upside” Blake brings to the bench will get undercut once Champ becomes an option off the bench

when a team does not gameplan against Wemby, he can elevate his circus play and fill the stat sheet ... that 3 point chucking is just horrible to watch

Yeah, I don't like seeing this posted, or saying this, but I've mentioned once or twice before that I had a dream a few years back where Ben Simmons was in a Spurs uniform (if I am remembering right, I think it was after Kawhi was traded, so it didn't make sense). Hopefully that dream does not come true. I do recall, though, the Spurs were playing deep into the Western Conference finals in it, so hopefully that part is right .

You got a good point there. I mentioned (when I first started watching the game) it felt to me like Kobe Bryant like defiance coming out gunning, but what you've said is also something Kobe would do (Take the shots himself as most of the guys on the team suck shooting the 3 ball). I guess I can't fault him for that if that is what he's thinking. At least he's confident taking the shots (unlike some of the other players on the team that seem to be lacking confidence).

This 3pt chucking is horrible to watch but is it by design? Surely if Wemby can get his 3pt percentage to close to 40% like Curry, he will be unstoppable. That will mean no shot blocker inside and open lane for the like of Sochan to drive to the basket. As bad as it looks, Wemby is an anomaly that no one has seen before for a guy his size. So does the style of basketball with him in it could change. Pop, while many here might dispute, is a genius at adopting with his personnel, was able to win 5 rings with different styles of play (just try to think of another coach who did that). It’s ugly basketball but it’s a stone that’s not left unturned if it would work.

Wemby is our best shooter and it's a 3pt chucking league so do the math
