Local guys are probably, and rightfully so, trying to downplay the situation.
Pop's life might not be threatened, but depending on what it was he might not be up for coaching for some time...or ever.

Either way I just hope he'll be okay for the long-term. He's done more than enough as a NBA coach and his health is most paramount, now.

Hopes up for Pop pulling through and getting back on the sidelines (if he so chooses).

Pop could die and he'd figure out a way to keep it secret.

Actually, everything about NATIONAL media is story, drama and clicks. I’d trust the local guys over them any and every day.

    1. Hope PopaGOAT is ok.

    2. Why the is Mitch Johnson the interim? Is he really the best/most tenured coach on the staff? There was a time when Pop had a stacked assistant coach roster, tbh.

Man… hope the old man gets back on track. I always thought something like that could happen, given his age.

It's amazing how healthy a coach has to be that he's 75 and if he misses a couple days of work it's curtains.

He actually did the job last year, too.

Malika Andrews just said that WAS almost hired him 2 summers ago, he was one of the 2 finalists.

He's rated in the league apparently

Tough call who to trust. Local guys tow the company line. Shams hasn't always been reliable. I'd probably trust Woj, if he were still around,I guess, but Pop is likely super private about this, so probably no reporters are plugged in.

Local guys, the ones who aren't clueless, would absolutely do a cover up to protect the Spurs interests. Being first with any big news story on this does nothing but hurt their careers in SA. They don't want to get on the Spurs bad side, so at most you'll get cryptic nonsense like, "Nothing too serious guys. But, golly gee, this sort of feels different. It's not different, I'm not saying that, believe me! It just, uh, feels different. Whatever that means."

I would have probably agreed 2-3 years ago,but outlets firing guys like Lowe, and keeping idiots like Screamin’ A Smith. It’s all clickbait and hot takes.

    100%

Local Spurs media is more concerned with being friends with the Organization than they are getting the story (which you, is like, a journalist’s job)

If Pop had a stroke, he would have admitted to a hospital and that surely would have leaked by now (IMO)
