The reason Trump and literally every other Republican in Arizona won their contested race, but Lake lost is because of her personality and contempt for the general public, the news, the military.

Turns out, the whole "I'm proud of voting for Obama in 2008" schtick doesn't work very well in Arizona. Telling McCain supporters in 2022 not to support her and not to vote for her. At least with Trump, he denies the "[McCain] was a loser and sucker" story as debunked, while Lake takes pride in it and won't shut up about how much she hates McCain. Trump on the other hand, he's no fan of Obama and at least has the track record of sticking his neck out for the GOP in 2012 and arguably 2008.

Trump won Arizona by over 2% more than he won it by in 2016 and Maricopa is pretty solidly red, tbh.
