    Kerr literally admitted it
Like, in terms of structure? Sure. In terms of the moving screens and that? Nope.

I watched some of the possessions down the stretch in UTA-DAL. I have no idea what Doncic was doing in the last defensive possession. Clarkson (I think) zipped a pass to his guy standing behind him, as he was standing there turned away, who was right under the basket. I literally have no idea what he was doing.
He was doing something, just not defending

Tim got away for YEARS with that swinging gate dribble handoff, which was a moving screen.

I assume Doncic thought a collins screen was coming for Clarkson, but wtf was he even looking at it's funny how one can be an offensive savant but completely lost on the other side of the court

Sure, neither the leniency of the refs towards travelling and carrying

Pop is the one that, despite openly hating the 3pts shooting, understood it was the way to take the most advantages of the rules.

Having a scoring PG rather than game manager helped or pushed him in that direction too, but he Spurs started it in 12' and mastered it in 14'-15'

Without this blueprint, Curry wouldn't have been able to shine as much by becoming an off ball player and "delegating" some of the playmaking to DG

I would make the argument that the leagues yields from 2 and 3 Pters aren’t because of the 3 opening everything up, but because travelling calls and moving screen calls (or lack thereof) is tilting the balance heavily towards offence. The league stumbled upon the formula due to the warriors and then continued to loosen the rules to allow a sickening amount of offence. Now the game is becoming unbearably one dimensional with no mid range games and limited low post games. Entire play books are around high pick and rolls, baseline screens and in and outs. It’s becoming a bland and predictable game.
agree with a lot of this

moving screens bother me so much, because they're always incredibly obvious, and then they will randomly get whistled, as though it was any more blatant than the same thing done on the 8 prior possessions.

i dont care that much about the hand-checking stuff that a lot of people complain about. its really the moving screens and the weak foul-baiting stuff, which to be fair, the league HAS started to come back on. stuff like rip throughs, unnatural shooting motions, the trae young jump backwards into the defender stuff. it still gets called, but the league really has started to clamp on it quite a bit, and thats good.

the last thing is just how loose the definition of a "gather step" has gotten

Have seen some interesting thoughts about possibly making 2s into 3s and 3s into 4s to add more balance to the game. Would make counting stats incongruent but might result in a better game

while that may be a statistically elegant solution, i think its more likely they just move the 3 point line. eliminate the corner 3, move the line back, etc

Once again I'm posting the answer to all the issues NBA currently has.
We don't need no rule changes, we just need those rules to be enforced.
It's just an awful product right now with all the carries, travels, moving screens and inconsistent foul criteria.

Why play on the inside where defenders are still allowed to push, pull, swipe and get physical when you can just kick out your feet on every jumpshot and get free throws?

Eliminating the corner 3 is probably the easiest thing to do. It will be much easier to guard the 3 point line when you can only really space 3 shooters along it at the most.

Another idea is to just turn the 3 point line off in the 2nd and 3rd quarters.

The idea I liked the most, though it was probably the least intuitive, was to have shots made beyond the arc alternate between being worth 2 and 3 points, with a green light next to the shot clock to indicate which (off = 2 points, on = 3 points, every make toggles it). That's equivalent to having the shots be worth 4 and 5 but this method has the advantage of keeping scores consistent with the past.

It would be easy to just leave the light on for the last 2 minutes of the 4th and all OTs so that teams can still mount late comebacks.

A bunch of third year guys off to strong starts this year -

Sochan, Daniels, Mathurin, Ivey still seems kind of fool's gold to me but he's playing better, Eason looks legit, Sharpe had a really nice game the other night

Add those guys to Chet/JDub/Paolo and it's looking like a strong class all around

Gradey is the player that surprised me the most, the kid is really good!

Stayed on his embarrassing as much as generous block that allowed Wemby to get his 1st triple dble, he's a mid range machine!

When Wemby and Castle are AS mainstays, Spurs fans would care

Those DRob when he was an athletic freak was cool to watch. Not much Timmy because his style was not meant for AS exhibitions. But Wemby? He’ll be an AS favorite.

When Timmy, Porky, Manu, and Nephew were making AS games as Spurs, I literally didn't care about the actual game. I only cared about the recognition tbh.

When an AS MVP is wearing a Spurs jersey, and it will be several with Wemby I bet, it will be fun for Spurs fans.

Man, the Bucks really are looking bad so far. Giannis is an absolute monster on the offensive end, but seems to have lost a bit of juice and/or determination defensively. Overall, the team's core seems to just have aged out of contention as a collective. That being said, the season is still young, the East seems to mostly suck, and I still can see the Bucks making the Conference Finals.
