This thread devolved into a MAGA fap-fest involving quotes from Stephen Jackson. Classic ST. Minor stroke hope he recovers and gets back out there. ST is gonna take Wemby's 50 pice and attribute it to the absence of Pop; I can already smell it.

They can no openly attack and discriminate successful coloured people to make themselves not look like bottom of the pile trashes like they are though. So all is good.

Voting for republicans because of inflations
Voting for a party supported by musk because of poor welafh distribution
More than half the country being nimwits
Getting the news from TikTok videos and YouTube channels.

Yeah, because inflation wasn’t on record as being the biggest reason voters went republicans.

Of course, racism wasn’t a valid answer so inflation really was in reality the excuse, because it never made sense.

The modern-day philosopher Stephen Jackson put it best, Pop is not a great coach, he is a great leader.
it's enough to trace how the team’s offense changed from 1999 to 2017 to understand how unfounded this statement is

In case you don’t understand the charts, 32% chose economy and 11% chose immigration as their number 1 issue, with the majority of those voting for the republicans. 90% of 11% is 9.9%. 80% of 32% is 25.6%. Since it appears republicans seem to have a general misunderstanding of numbers, I might also add that 25.6 > 9.9. By quite a bit.

34% had state of democracy as the number one issue but those who did chose democracy by a wide margin. So it also shows that republicans want to make America great again but doesn’t really care about the state of democracy, even though they had been crying about vote rigging for four years. It’s just defies logic.

Btw, it’s cute republicans actually think the rich guys will do anything to curb the major source of low cost labour to make them richer. They will put on a show, put out a few sound bites, abuse a few helpless families for news, but after four years I will bet there will be as many, if not more, illegal immigrants as now.

Best part was Trump never caring about the wall when he had every branch of government for two years, but then shutting the government down for a month the second the democrats took power in the house so he could play victim and blame them for him not getting the wall built. His cult base thought a campaign slogan was real.

Can’t imagine the amount of stupidity and lack of basic humanity you must harbor to come on this forum and call yourself a fan while opening cheering someone having a stroke.

You people don’t have the courage to talk like this from anywhere other than behind a screen.

I just want to own my action here of sharing Stephen Jackson's quote. I thought it was interesting, but, in no way do I down play the severity of Pop's recent stroke, his seemingly infinite worth as a caring human being, and the greatest coach SA will ever have.
This isn't the right place to be spewing so much negativity.

    Get well soon, Pop!

Quick question since this thread has devolved into a political discussion; I can understand voters prioritizing economy when casting their ballots, genuinely curious how so many people became convinced that meant voting for the Republican ticket. Recent history has shown Republican terms to be unmitigated disasters with regards to the economy. I dabble on both sides of the aisle depending on the issue but the marketing on this one (economy) has intrigued me because the Republican track record is laughable yet many voters didn't seem to connect the dots on it.

Also, get well Pop and thank you (and Tim/Tony/Manu/David/RC) for a 20+ year run of dominance that is more than a fan could ever ask for.

Because Americans idolize wealth. The ticket with the people like Musk and Trump represent what most Americans aspire to be. At some point, Americans stopped trying to make the country better for the next generation economically and have adopted a stance of “because it was hard for me, it must be hard for you”.

The craziest part is that the odds of earning $1 billion dollars is so empty. Great, you made enough money that generations of your line can’t spend it all. So what? The US dollar isn’t of real value, neither is crypto. It has value because all of us adults in the US agree to play make believe.

Historically, the richest of the human species have not been the best of the human species. Trump and Musk are not the best of us. They have never done anything at their own expense to help someone else. Before the smoother brained individuals come with the “Musk bought Twitter for us!!”. Twitter still has value, but even if it didn’t, Musk wouldn’t lose enough money to change his quality of life.

Honestly, Karma? It's more like he's old and drinks a lot of wine. That he had a mini-stroke is not unusual for people his age. I'm just surprised there is talk of him coming back to coach. Seems like the stress and the travel would be bad for someone his age. Why not be happy with what you've done and give someone else a chance to be a head coach in the NBA?

I don’t think SJax meant this as an insult or a diminishment of Pop’s coaching, as some are taking it, but rather as praise that Pop is more than just a coach. It’s a lot easier to be a great coach than it is a great leader.

Trying to understand SJAX is a waste of time. He's the guy that has always respected the game and then he admitted to getting high before games and not being able to shoot straight. Like a lot of these former players, they think that just because they played professional basketball, everything they say is gospel when most of the time its just them talking without thinking. I mean, the game may have passed Pop by as is evident over the last several years, but he did coach the team that was labeled the Beautiful Game, so it's not like the guy doesn't know how to coach. But being able to draw up plays is probably not as important as leadership and getting people to play hard and put their egos aside for the team.

Question to your question. What metrics did you use to say republicans are disasters to economy. And how recent is recent. As I have an answer in mind but I wanna make sure we are on same line.

Although, I do agree with showing Pop atleast some respect and not wishing ill will on him. I truly feel bad for him and his family regardless of politics

I hate how politics has gotten in here but to be fair it was Pop who decided to inject his.

Anyway, I hope we do hear some good news on his recovery going forward and I wish him the best and well.

Time to go enjoy your wine old man.
