The last place he should have torn his ACL was in Austin, dropping 33 points in a meaningless game. He's proven to be a very good player that can score the ball and defend.
What's worst of all is that they don't even let him play his game on the Spurs yet he still often stands out just from knowing where to be on the court.
Big loss. Big opportunity for Barlow though.

My understanding of the disabled player exception was that it gave you the exception to create cap room but it didn’t create a roster spot. The ptr article about Bassey says we get a roster spot though
im pretty sure they got it wrong. In any event i don’t expect the spurs to make use of it. There was just no point in not applying for it since deadline for these pe ions is Monday anyway.
in theory you would hold off on applying for it in case someone more notable and expensive got hurt because the exception created there would be more significant.

That makes it seem like Bassey and the Spurs don't agree on a contract. It's heartening if that means the Spurs could have grander plans for their room exception
