DT Myron Charles of Port Charlotte, FL talked to On3 today:

“I’m not really too sure yet (what I'm doing this weekend),” Charles told On3’s Keith Niebuhr. “Think I’m going to fly back out to Texas. It’s undecided right now. Really just going to get with my family and see what they’re trying to do.”

“They’ve (Texas) been loyal to me since they offered me,” Charles said. “The connection there, the communication has been huge. They have a great D-Line staff and they’ve been playing outstanding overall. Just a dominant team and that’s the type of team you want to play for.”

“Their D-line staff (is the best thing about Texas),” said Charles.

“Honestly, there isn’t too much more I have to see from Texas. I’m committed there for a reason.”

I'm not claiming this specific thing is related to his comment, but some are wondering if he's talking about #1 overall prospect QB Bryce Underwood flipping to Michigan and that having a huge effect on LSU's class.

Not that it was really in doubt, but there have been rumors popping up this week questioning if QB Quinn Ewers would return to Texas for 2025.

That is confusing to me. Does that mean Burton thinks Texas is going grab some elite HS kids and some current players will portal? Or does it mean Texas is prepared to grab players from the portal because they're not getting who they want? Asking for a friend.

That is confusing to me. Does that mean Burton thinks Texas is going grab some elite HS kids and some current players will portal? Or does it mean Texas is prepared to grab players from the portal because they're not getting who they want? Asking for a friend.

Good news on both fronts.

Texas should finish 2025 class strong, and staff is ready to go to fill immediate roster needs via the portal.

As far as losing players, it should be healthy attrition like last year but you can't count out a surprise or two.

Oklahoma lost their '25 QB tonight as he chose to flip to.......................................Florida State.

He even moved from Prosper and played his junior year in Oklahoma after committing in early 2023, but ultimately moved back to play for Denton Guyer.

Imo, I think it's because of the Underwood news. Michigan was leading or at the top. I think the flip generated excitement for him and gives him a reason to choose Michigan.
