49ers and Rams both top heavy rosters dealing with serious injuries to their best non-QB players. Seattle can ill-afford to lose Metcalf but aside from that their roster is pretty balanced, their young defense is finally playing well, their QB is on a reasonably cheap contract, and they're running away with the division.

Also: Mahomes 1 playoff victory in New York vs Allen, 1 SB ring and 1 SB MVP.

Trashy can run up the score all he wants to but he stinks it up every year in the playoffs, I mean I guess you can say 2021 wasn't really his fault but the other years have been.

Punt and tank the season away due to injuries? Samuel and McCaffrey gotta go, imo. Maybe Purdy too. Too many injuries and I don't see Purdy as a guy who would do well on his own when thrown to the wolves.

A 2nd late game collapse within the Division. Still unable to put teams away with double digit lead. Moody joins the injury pile with a high ankle sprain.


3 main problems
- Red Zone scoring. Kyle responded postgame how the team entered this match up ranked middle of the pack in RZ conversions and responded with a 1-6 showing vs Arizona

- Run defense and the entire unit as a whole. This core has always relied on the quality of the Defensive Line first and foremost stopping the Run. The talent level has declined as resources have been allocated elsewhere.

- What is the Offenses iden y? Cardinals entered the game coming off a ground gashing by the Redskins. And Kyle draws up a gameplan with Mason carrying only 14 times. Under Kyle the team usually starts the season slow and I think that's in part to him attempting to evolve the Offense. Ayiuk & Kittle with 16 catches combined. But Purdy should not be attempting 35 passes and that's not counting his total drop backs (he scrambled from pressure a number of times).

- Special teams: great FG block TD. Very next play there is poor coverage on the Arizona return. Moody now injured won't help this unit.


Overall I think improvement in the Red Zone and recommitment to the Running Game will keep this team atleast afloat for Division le - win on Thursday on a short week and you're in 1st Place. The Defense will likely just be a Top15 unit this season. There will be changes to the personal for example LB Campbell is performing poorly and his quotes don't vibe with the locker room. Need to refocus on Run Defense. Safety play should steadily improve. Team has yet to play a complete game or even Half for that matter.

Deebo will contribute but any hopes of him regaining his form & influence from a years ago should be dismissed. I also still have faith we will see McCaffrey back and need him in the pass game.

2. Chiefs open. Brock throwing into tight windows. Then goal line - KC is stacked formations and we aren't. Another goal line situation and defender in Brocks face

3. Defense played well. Linebackers. Warner missed that HOF vs HOF tackle. Then his defense gets embarrassed. Different Era, I can't see Pat Willis missing that. LBs are a mess and our leader is running outta steam. Beyond that the team did great drafting Secondary recently.

Personally wish they wouldn't bring him back this season tbh. If he tears his achilles he's ed, and this team isn't winning a SB this year. Let Purdy cook with the weapons he had and see if he's worth the contract imo.

In MLB I agree but there is no guarantee we aren't even more injured next season. We regroup and make yet another NFC Run.

So many memorable playoff victories recently. I prefer the Harbaugh 49ers but Kyle has eclipsed it. Let's do it again

This much of the roster broken.

I'm 50/50 on rebuild. Go heavy on trench in the upcoming Draft and use 2025 as season to let go of high priced veterans.

But if we go on likely losing streak to finish the season then we are drafting in the Top15. We can do quick retool and compete next season.
