Wemby loves doing those little tip rebounds where he tips it to other Spurs.
Also loved how a basketball remains possibly the last pure source of blind justice in this world as Trae Young flopped and then missed not 1 but BOTH FTs. Young also missed a point blank lay in shortly after that. That ball knew.

actually the expectation is that he's terrible and somehow became decent
Wemby is able to switch and guard the perimeter shooting. Hence he is far from the basket
Wemby is averaging 10 rpg for the season. I doubt that happens every night.
Trae ended both regulation and OT with empty possessions.
Paul is an opportunistic rebounder and the Spurs need them all.
Hawks got a bunch of open threes because spurs defenders continue to rotate into the paint even though wemby is planted right there. This is maddening! I’d figure this would be an easy adjustment that would bring huge advantages to the defense, but it seems as bad as last year. At this point, I can only assume it is the coaches not dissuading spurs from doubling opponents in the paint.
Wrote about this during the game, was infuriating to see Devin rotate off his man in the corner just to try and contest the same drive Wemby is already containing.
I would rather give up a tough 2 with Wemby in the paint than an open 3. Just stay with your man!
I loved how every player I sought to trash this game showed up in the end. I wanted to dog Vassell, Sochan, and even CP for lack of scoring in the first half. Proud to be wrong at the end of the night
It's easy to get caught up in the game as it's happening, especially when guys are under-performing.
Glad to see the team show some grit to overcome several deficits, and come out strong in the 4th and OT.
Warriors in a free fall.
Should be able to get that elusive two game cushion over .500 against the Blazers, and then we have a winnable game @ PHI before the XMas day showdown. Opportunity to show the world what we've got cooking down here.
Wemby was immaculate and CP3 was clutch af. Sochan was fantastic too on all sides. Vassell in the starting lineup was perfect too. We just need to be more consistent, and hopefully all bodies on deck helps with that.
Wemby averaging 46 ppg against the EC this year, tbh
Yeah their hot start was a result of taking advantage of every other team still warming up and Curry being fresh. It went downhill after that loss to the Spurs. Klay was on the decline but he was still another option to worry about vs Wiggins/Kuminga. Steph is tired because teams can just focus on stopping him now.
Spurs could be the only team in the league to do away with most defensive rotations by just having Wemby play a one man zone in the paint. These coaches need to start thinking outside the box.
They really thought a 36 yo small PG could still be the best player and the first option on a contender? Timmy who was 6'11 relinquished the latter at a younger age (33-34) while continuing to be our best overall player till age 38 (2014)..Their problem is they don't have a younger Parker/Kawhi to extend their run while 34 yo Draymond is a much less resourceful player than 34yo Manu back in the day..
Wemby's technical foul has been rescinded by the League... basically we got Free Basketball (OT) for the wrong reasons, but it was worth it.![]()
De'Andre Hunter's post slam dunk grandstanding was silly, but I am impressed with his improvement generally this year. I liked him out of college, and it took longer than expected, but he looks like a pretty good late bloomer. Coming off the bench and averaging nearly 20 ppg in under 29 mpg is impressive.
Good. it was asinine that he got T'd up for getting dunked on and taunted on the ground, should have only been Hunter. I've seen plenty of dudes get T'd for taunting for way less than that. but yeah like you said, worth it in the end so whatever![]()
Yeah, Hunter is getting clowned for taunting and then no-showing in OT, but he had a really nice game to go with his really nice season.

What a difference a year makes!![]()
Wemby's tech from last night was rescinded which confirms that ref was just a ing coward and knew had to T up Hunter but didn't want it to cost them the game. That is honestly ridiculous.
EDIT: I see I am late to this convo.
