Former US President Jimmy Carter has passed away at the impressive age of 100 after spending his final months in ho e care. The former president accomplished a poignant final act - casting his vote for Kamala Harris in the presidential elections.
With all the death news, here's something positive and non-partisan.
Jimmy Carter becomes the first U.S. president in history to reach 100 (that's sad in a way, and a referendum on the bad health and healthcare system in the USA)... the Georgia Democrat and former governor and 39th President is being honored by the White House today.

Impressive. I thought perhaps he'd die and take media attention away from the election at some point, and that still might be the October surprise, though a dull one. I'm glad he made it to 100 though especially since he's battled terminal cancer for no less than 10 years.

Probably for (nearly) eradicating Guinea Worm disease in Africa and Asia.
There were 3.5 million cases in 1986. In 2024 there were 7 cases.
