If he doesnt learn how to play low post game it might be better for him to play the midrange game like aldridge but not most of the time.

He’s trying to learn that rip through move but he lacks the hand strength still. This causes easy strips. But we can’t for him trying to develop a post game while also ing about how he needs to stop camping out behind the 3pt line.
I never said his three pointers are bad. His whole offensive game has exploded since he started doing that. He's also an outstanding three point shooter.

He needs to stop facing up in games.

Also, the rip through is dead. Learning it now serves little purpose.

Im definitely not keeping score on who was ing about him taking too many threes and calling for him “to go to the post,” but there are (were?) a load full of posters on that train, lol.

That rip through move is absolutely valuable today bc it’s how all the elite players get their FT rate up. Look no further than the Joker these last two games.

I saw Jokic do it and not get whistled because it's not a foul anymore. Unless they changed the rule back. Also, Victor is not ripping through someone's arms to draw contact. He's bringing the ball down and getting it swiped away. Over and over and over.

If he turned with the ball above his head rather than at the floor, nobody could get to it.

Might have to pay for a month of BBall-Index just so I can build this same chart for everyone's heroes, Devin and Keldon

It's honestly really hard to say "Wemby should be doing this" and "Wemby should stop doing that" because the offense around him isn't exactly high functioning. Dude is carrying a team with a total of less than a half dozen NBA-rotation level players, most of them playing beyond an appropriately sized role right now.

So Vic just dueled on B2B nights against the best player in the world, managed to escape with a split. He has a lot to learn and improve on and he's already so goddamn good. What an amazing young man.

Love the development plan tbh. Looks like the Spurs wanted to develop his outside shooting and postgame this season and it's going well. He's already figured out a better shot selection and how to get to the rim and shoot over smaller guys from midrange. He'll just get better.

Wemby clearly can’t shoulder heavy minutes load just yet; we have seen him fizzle out on offense after 35 mins logged in multiple games, but it is underrstadanle given the amount of energy he expands on the other end..I think he will get there eventually conditioning-wise.. I am old enough to remember how Jokic used to huff & puff looking like he is gonna die on court in the early days (circa 2015-18) and now look at him becoming a stamina god (career high 37 mpg this season)

While I know PATFO are working tirelessly to help his development (just saw a snippet where Jamal Crawford was discussing conversations with Pop when they hired JC to work with Wemby on his handles/footwork) it looks to me Wemby is doing what he wants when he wants with regards to his development, and rightfully so I might add.

Wemby is sending all kinds of subtle messages: He wants to win, and win now. PATFO can't simply slow walk it anymore when they have a consensus Top 5-7 player in the league..

Being a basketball junkie, I am sure Wemby pay attention to the rest of the league. OKC just won 15 or 16 straight with no Chet and Caruso. Their average age is very young and they have tons of picks (including the top 6 protected pick from 76ers this year).

With Sam Presti as their GM, OKC is likely to form the new dynasty and might win 4 to 6 les in the near future.

Vic would not be happy seeing his nemesis Chet get so far ahead of him

While I admire their model, they aren’t winning 4-6 les before they get 2nd aproned. They’ll be lucky to get 2. They had some issues in the playoffs that they addressed, but those aren’t long term solutions, because they have many young mouths to feed. Literally have both Chet and Jalen extension eligible next summer.

Victor Wembanyama’s Latest Game-Breaking Skill Is the Quiet Key to His Ascent

Amidst the abundant blocks and logo 3s, a more subtle aspect of Wemby’s game is redefining his potential—and that of his team

Wemby's passing is a huge surprise and will take some time to get dialed. I recall Luka and Ginobili firing a LOT of passes into the stands earlier in their careers. The fact that he is working on this facet of his game now seems highly intelligent and will provided huge dividends down the road.

Just gotta get rid of the unintelligent surrounding players and replace them with smarter and better ones. Shooters and elite defenders only except for rebounding/enforcer type or two.
Wemby with either excellent perimeter defenders like OKC or excellent shooters like Boston would be insane. A combination of both would be the ideal for a long run of championship contention.

Here's why I think this is brilliant:

When the Rockets had Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobeley, they would always cite age as a factor: 'We're a young team.". They continued to state this after they became older than the Spurs and still couldn't beat them.
