Really frustrating seeing teams get uncontested layups while one of the best defensive big men the NBA has ever seen is out guarding the three-point line. Maybe we try a zone sometime?

That was embarrassing in the second half. Absolutely bullied. Most of this team has no pride in their defense and there is a noticeable lack of effort on that side of the ball. Don’t have to be a good defender to show effort and toughness. Signs that a new coaching staff is probably needed.

    Their counter is injured.
Yep, if only we had Sochan's shooting to help space the floor, we could have had this one.

I legit hate the Memphis. Band of front runners tbh. But playing a team like that will make Vic better, imo.

Memphis is a tough team. Lot's of height, play super physical brand of basketball.
I felt like we had a chance if not for their bench going off. Kennard and Aldama were killers in the 2nd half.

There were some curious moves, though coaching-wise.

    - Wemby playing 37 mins in a game like this. I'm very glad he didn't get injured in the last 90 seconds when the game was pretty much decided.
    - Spurs played their 9-man rotation while Memphis went with an 11-man rotation. Was MJ sending a message by letting the starters breathe in the foul stench of losing before Friday's re-match? Seemed odd to not sub-out the starters there.
    - Huff as a 3rd-string center is just one example of player development and roster building around physicality, height and defense. We need more versatile front court players and Huff would be a great 3rd option at center.

Not surprising. Outside of 2011 the spurs absolutely owned their poverty franchise repeatedly so I'm sure they love kicking our asses now

So little resistance from spurs’ defenders on the perimeter. Even Castle was consistently giving up wide open lanes to the basket. Other than great shooting from the spurs, it was not a very compe ive game. The coaching staff needs to get Even a little bit creative on defense. Let wemby play a one man zone in the paint.

I think wemby got punked by the grizzlies last year too. I hear a lot about how compe ive he is so let’s see what he brings tomorrow

How many opened 3s has Champ left bc he was focused on his defensive rebounding and over helping inside?

Why is it happening every games?
