Stayed there for a few nights once. The touristy spots are nice, but it's also real easy to walk two blocks the wrong way and you are in the ghetto. We didn't realize our hotel was just a few streets from the Tenderloin district, so bad planning on my part.

Saw a homeless guy in only boxers try to force his way into the car of a Papa Johns delivery driver, then kept going back into the store shouting. Police were called, they just talked him down and let him walk away...so that was interesting.

My uncle, who was a real estate agent of some renown, helped rebuild Nob Hill back in the 80's.

It was beautiful then.
I remember being on the roof of a hotel he owned, popping tar bubbles.

He gave the entire top floor to my grandmother. He had one suite for himself.
He had a terminal illness and was on his last legs and I (about 10 at the time) would lay under his strikingly giant bed and watch The Incredible Hulk as he was laid up and we would joke and laugh...

I miss him.
