I think he'll impress.
I remember when Sean was going to be in the dunk contest but they weren't going to let him use his snake, or some weird . I'm glad he pulled out, another guy who doesn't really suit the dunk contest.
This is also a compe ion I could give zero s about any Spur ever competing in... but Castle just seems an odd choice to me.

This is great for him to be involved in the Rookie game an SD Contest. Even if both end poorly, it's a confidence booster and raises Spurs profile a bit. He's gotta be pretty happy about it.
It wouldn't surprise me if he has some stuff we haven't seen.
Kinda surprising, be interesting to see what he has in his bag. He did throw down a windmill on a fastbreak a few games back that was kind of unexpected. He seems to be much better jumping off 2 feet rather than 1 foot which is a good thing for doing showoff dunks.
Cool to see a Spur participating in this, but he can't really get up in the air like that.
I'm guessing it involves Wemby. Maybe Stephon gets on Victors shoulders and dunks it.

Maybe Pop told him early on not to be using those kind of skills during the games.
I just don't see him being ablate jump over Wemby unless he bends over considerably, which kinda ruins the dunk altogether. Will be interested to see what tricks he has up his sleeve tbh.
I remember Jonathon Simmons wanting to participate until Pop told him „that’s not who we are“ and had him release a statement that he wants to focus on playing basketball
Agree, though I do think he’ll incorporate Wembs somehow since he’ll be there.
It's nice just for exposure. One of the bad things about the Pop era has been a lack of publicity and support for players when they deserve awards and merits.
Here's a scenario:
Castle incorporates Wemby on a dunk that injures both of them and they miss the rest of the season.
We tank and get lucky.....AGAIN and draft Cooper Flagg, offload Collins, Jones, Branham, Mamu and Wesley. Castle and Wemby come back stronger and dialed in and we upgrade the necessary positions.
You may say I'm a dreamer, but, it could happen, right?

He doesn't have anywhere near that kind of hang time tbh. At least he hasn't shown any indication that he does. Think most of his dunks are more likely to be gimmicky rather than just pure explosive athleticism.
He has the length but that will score you a 30 these days. He is solidly cooked. No bunnies and doesn’t move like a someone who can entertain on this platform.
I think the Spurs still owe us the one and only James Flight White.
