nope the Mavs are just idiots
nope the Mavs are just idiots
It was basically better to let Luka walk, than this. If only on principle. Just traded a 25 year old superstar for peanuts. Mavs got their pants pulled down big time on this one.
I think Luka cost himself like ~12mil/yr for his next extension. I doubt that Luka cares, but it does mean another small win for the Lakers in this trade.
Chill, Deep..Mavs were never trading him to us. They wanted a win-now star in the package more than anything, their stupidity notwithstanding..
Oh, I get it I do just laugh at all the “Luka will never be available” know it alls here. But ya, SA was never in the running as Dallas clearly wants to win now and wanted a front court player which we dont have
Precursor move???
Hollinger wrote earlier that Utah had to waive a player to take on Hood-Schiffino in that Luka-Davis trade, some recent quirk of the CBA. He thought that might be Tucker, but perhaps they chose Bamba instead?
No Mo Bamba
I didn't put that up as an indication that I wanted to sign him.
I was just making a pun. "No Mo' Bamba"
Damn Bucks trying to sit half the team tonight vs okc. Might be a scoring record.
Lavine was negative value. Derozan was a free agent. Caruso was the miss but they got Giddey which serves them well enough.
I'm not going to say Amen reminds me of young Lebron, but he's just running people over and dunking on them, ridiculous athlete.
suns lose...But now portland on our ass to pass us in the standings.
WE HAVE ANOTHER TRADE!!!
The Thunder have send a 2029 SRP (from Suns) to Charlotte for 2030 SRP (from the Nuggets).
What's interesting is that the Thunder already had a conditional FRP from Denver (protected 1-5 in 2029 and 1-5 in 2030). If that pick fails to convey, it turns into the 2030 SRP that the Thunder just acquired. Seems like OKC is trying to lineup pressure on Denver, piece by piece.
So what happens if that FRP doesn’t convey in 29 or 30? It becomes the 30 SRP that the thunder already have? Or it then becomes the 31 SRP?
If the FRP fails to convey in 29 and 30, it turns into the 2030 SRP, and the 2030 SRP becomes nothing (so technically the 2030 SRP they acquired today is labelled as conditional)
To me, it's more that OKC had 6 second round picks in 2029 and "only" 3 in 2030. This trade allow them to spread better their picks. What is surprising is that they are doing it 4 years in advance.
For Charlotte, they turning a second round pick into an earlier and likely better one. Good trade for them.
Spurs could/should do too that kind of trade and trade a 2026 second round pick into a 2027 second round pick. It would help them with their logjam of 2026 second round picks.
Warriors approached the Suns for KD
