Not insinuating that Fox>AD but this kind of deal brings a point someone here brought up that getting Fox doesn't necessarily mean you mortgage you're entire future. It also means, aside from a chance to win, a very valuable trade piece in the future.

Well, there is one rush in that up to half of your excess draft picks could be expiring this summer. So a decision needs to be made on trading those for a player, using them for a player, or punting them down the road. If you wait too long, you may be stuck with suboptimal outcomes.

There is also a lesson here about the relative value of draft picks. There is a reason why it takes so many of them to land guys like KD, Mitc , Bridges, Gobert, etc... it's because they aren't worth as much as quality players.

Well, the Spurs aren't giving up a player of Anthony Davis' caliber, so I'd expect they have to give up at least two FRP, but then Fox also isn't Doncic caliber, so I don't know.

I wouldn't expect the Doncic deal to set the market in any meaningful way; that was a one off trade scenario between friends/former colleagues at Nike. Similar to how most don't expect the Mikal Bridges trade to set the market either as that was mostly about realizing the Knicks dream of a Villanova lineup (not to mention those 5 firsts are expected to be low value).
