I think Castle will eventually get there.

    Have 2 in top 20.

Need 3 in top 50 to be perennial contender. We Have cap space, draft picks, and development of Castle to make this happen.

Boston has 5 in top 75
    OKC 4 in top 75
    Cleveland 4 in top 75

    these numbers correlate to wins.

Markkannen would be perfect. A shame we didn’t get him.

I don't know if we'll pursue him, but I think he'll be available again this summer. A lot will depend on how the lottery balls bounds for Utah.

I don't know if we have the assets for Markkannen now, but so what? I like our odds with the draft in the next few years.

we still have assets to make moves, but i think they should play it steady. fox was a worthy transaction because the opportunity presented itself and we had significant leverage over both teams involved in the trade. i wouldnt force it.

we've basically just spent some of our excess assets, and still have some remaining. after this trade, we still have 2 FRP in 2025, a swap in our favor in 26, hawks pick in 27, swap in our favor in 28, swaps in our favor in 30, and a swap in our favor in 31

we still have a pick every year, an extra pick this year, and swaps in 4 of the other years up until 2031. we dont have control over what happens in 2027 since we traded our own pick, but every expectation is the hawks 27 pick will be better than the spurs 27 pick anwyay

we still have ammo to make multiple big acquisitions if we chose to. tomorrow, we chould choose to trade

    2 picks in 2025
    hawks pick in 2027
    our pick in 2029
our pick w/ swap rights attached in 2031

we could also offer swaps in 2026, 2028, 2030 (each of which would be lucrative swaps since they already have their own built in swaps)

and thats before offering up player assets like castle, sochan, vassell, etc

Holy what if we turnaround tomorrow and fleeced someone by sending them Vassell for 2 FRPs

good synopsis. Thanks. I agree lets hold and play steady. I would let Fox heal and tank this year. Our last tank year. Take the 30-40 percent chance at top 4 to add possibly Flagg, Harper, Edge, or Baily. This draft could then net us two more starters two top 10 picks one possibly top 4. In a draft supposedly way better than last year.

Yeah, I know we can mortgage our future for someone, but I like where we are, with a chance to improve via the draft every single year.

this is just the most recent Ringer thread, so using this one

they've announced Zach Lowe is joining, which is great. moving on from Kevin O'Connor and landing Lowe is such a huge upgrade for them
