At the minimum, Doncic will sign an extension. It's possible he forces a trade if things go south but things would really, really have to go bad for that to happen.

Sam Vecenie talked about this. He said Doncic would make more money by signing a 2+1, opting out of the final year, and then signing the 35% max at that point. Not only is it a higher percentage of the cap, but the cap will have grown more by then so it's a lot more money overall.
That doesn't mean Doncic will leave the Lakers, just that he might not sign the longest possible extension ASAP.

they have one tradeable pick left, but they still own their picks in even number years
I think it would be great to have as much of the whole team play as possible. Try and get one good look in before the trade deadline. I know it's only one game and too early to make any real decisions, but still worth a look to see how everyone fits with Fox just before the trade deadline finishes.
I know, I think with a couple of swaps in there too. It's not like the Lakers will draft anybody significant. That's not how they operate. They probably get a ton of good free agents in 2026 though.
even if you exclude top 10 picks like Russell, Ingram, Ball, Randle, theyve drafted and developed guys like Clarkson, Zubac, Hart, Reaves, Christie
their drafting hasnt really been all that bad

Left handed high flying Parker. I think his shooting will be better here, too. Sabonis was a hub, but he wasn’t really gravimetric on offense like Wemby is. Fox will get looks here that he’s never gotten in the NBA.
